I spotted heavy machinery and 'no parking' cones on Lyndhurst Way today. Could it be the March unused budget is going to be applied there? Unfortunately only half the road seemed to be designated. Why do they always leave unresurfaced bits when they improve a road eg Southampton Way, Peckham Rye.

Novel set in E Dulwich: Now You Know

Does it match "The Ballad of Peckham Rye" by Muriel Spark? -
Yes it is like a tramline. Really noticed it today while going down to Peckham rd. The other way to avoid Lyndhurst way is to break the law and cycle down the one way sections of Bellenden rd., which I am loathe to do, despite the excellent road surface.

I reckon Lyndhurst Way. Never resurfaced properly, patched, cracked, pot-holed, speed humped all its length. Even the3 school marking paint is lumpy and bumpy and at least one tree low enough to catch your face. The crossing islands force bikes and motor vehicles together at frequent intervals. It seems unloved by the council yet it is an important thoroughfare for cyclists.

Carpenter recommendation, My Front Door
edteacher replied to edteacher's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Haven't got a before. The door didn't merit taking any pictures of it. This is an after. I haven't done the final coats of paint yet. -
Must recommend Max Holt, a local carpenter/handyman, for the wonderful job he has done restoring my front door. It had been butchered, but he replaced the stile, fitted mouldings, installed leaded glass panels and transom and brought it all back to life. My hall has been transformed by the delicate light coming through and the door is a thing of grace and beauty. Thank you Max. He can be contacted on 07899 933547
