Recommended toys for 18mth old?
moominfilly replied to moominfilly's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Great suggestions. Mine has even got bored of her kitchen cupboard and has never been interested in the pots and pans! We got out to playground or group once a day, but there is always a need for new toys. We don't have a garden :( -
My 18 month old daughter has suddenly stopped playing with all her toys. Does anyone have any recommendations for toys for toddlers around this age?

Acupuncturist recommendations for speeding things up?
moominfilly replied to HMKing's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Not accupuncture but I went and had maternity reflexology done with Monica at the Dulwich Therapy rooms, 2 days after my due date and I went into labour the following morning. My friend also went into labour 24 hours after having reflexology. It's worth a shot! -
Espelli, great! My place isn't very big really I was wondering if there was anywhere in ED/Peckham Rye that might have a meeting room for free, a community place? Or someone else's abode! I haven't managed to make it to meet any of WBC yet, got a bit lost on the meeting times etc - remind me again and I'll pop along next week.

Just finished 'Mad Men'....what next?
moominfilly replied to nunheadmum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Breaking Bad - great, takes a few episodes to get in to! Boss - really good, with Kelsey Grammar from Frasier Homelands True Blood - the guys love it really despite their protests The Killing US version Boardwalk Empire - brilliant Suits -
I've started our 6 month old on BLW combined with mashed up food etc. Has anyone had experience of their baby just immediatley throwing it all up regardless of the fact they have just had a milk feed or not?! She only seems to throw up if 'puree' is actually mash with lumps in, or whole bits of food. Baby rice goes down ok, I've not actually tried anything flavoursome as a proper liquidy puree yet.

Does anyone know where I can take 12 week baby swimming? I'm not sure Dulwich fusion do parent and baby time... Do you have to go to places with special pools, and for lessons or just turn up somewhere and away you go?! Also any advice on waterproof nappies etc, what's the best idea for no leakage?!

Yep I just did the paspic.com one for our 9 week old. We laid baby on a white sheet on the floor and they did the rest, and it came the next day. Really easy.

Hi All Congrats to all, and continued good luck to all those still with time to go! I'd be up for a meet next week with the current small people that have arrived on the scene. We are 5 weeks in, and although it is getting ever so slightly easier than at first, just trying to make it out of the house sometimes seems to be a massive struggle. Alix

We have been swaddling, but it doesn't always work every time!

Does anyone have any experience of using a baby hammocks with a newborn? We currently have ours in a moses basket, but she doesn't settle well as the space is too open for her. During the day we put her on a cushion in the moses basket and she sleeps soundly as she is cocooned, or she has to be held to fall asleep. Just wondering if the baby hammock provides a more cosy environment and mimics being in the womb more, and if they are safe etc? Have been looking at the Amby Nest or the Miyo Baby Hammock.

Hello All Congratulations to Mother courage and baby! I also popped out Junior Moominfilly on Tuesday who was almost born in the waiting room at Kings!! We had a a little girl, weighing in at 7lbs 4oz, and is fighting fit and healthy. Hopefully will meet more of you and bumps, and newborns soon over the coming weeks! Alix

Hi All Sorry I missed the last meeting, I was on the edge of picking up flu so went into hiding. We did hypnobirthing sessions and finished up with them a few weeks ago, so currently getting ready to put it into practice. Due date is next Friday, so if I'm feeling brave or we haven't already popped I might venture out next Thursday - otherwise I am just sitting around and free for daytime coffee and cake if anyone else is interested in getting out?! Alix

Can any old timers recommend a good changing bag for first baby? Not to be too expensive or massive! And yet to be functional, have all you need to fit in it, handy pockets/compartments and to suit Dad too, etc...

Hi All Just rounding up my last day at work today! I am then free... all week for daytime coffees etc! I think I saw a suggestion of 10.30 tomorrow? I have a midwife appointment at the Lanes at 11.30 unfortunately so it would make the coffee a bit too brief! Hope all is well, I've spent the entire weekend lying down as now incapable of digesting any food, not pleasant! Alix
