  1. Hello, Does can anyone recommended a car consignment option nearby or on the way to Heathrow?
  2. Ok, think I am going to go with Plusnet. They checked my address and are guaranteeing at least 50Mbps download speeds (and I'm going to hold them to that! ;) Thanks for all the feedback and discussion everyone.
  3. has anyone had fibre to the premises installed by BT? How much did it cost and how well does it work?
  4. So I called BT and forgot that unless they roll fibre directly up to your house, which costs extra, you need to purchase a landline with your broadband (which I don't want or need). That landline makes BT considerably more expensive than Virgin Media. Has anyone used Plusnet in this area (or elsewhere) and been happy with it? Any other good non-landline options?

Thanks also for the tip on asking for a business package.
  6. Can anyone suggest an alternative provider in the peckham rye/Goose Green/Upland/Lordship quadrant for high-speed broadband?

Like I said, virgin is aware of the problem, and it sounds like at least one other person nearby is experiencing the same thing. Can anyone suggest an alternative provider in the peckham rye/Goose Green/Upland/Lordship quadrant for high-speed broadband?
  8. I'm currently a customer for Virgin's top speed service (100Mbps) and live near Peckham Rye park. For the past 2-3 months the broadband speeds in the evenings have become barely usable. Virgin is aware of the problem, which is due to too many subscribers in the area. However, they won't be boosting capacity until 24 June. Anyone in my area who is happy with their 100Mbps broadband speed provider?

  10. Hello, Looking for an excellent local housecleaner near Peckham Rye. We would prefer an individual rather than an agency so that all money goes directly to the person cleaning the house. We are looking for: -someone who is comfortable using cleaning products which are suitable for a house with a dog and a newborn baby -primarily work on the kitchen and bath -willing to focus on the hard jobs which don't receive regular attention, such as the cleaning the fridge, little nooks and corners, etc. -expertise on removing lots of dog hair would be particularly helpful! If you are interested please PM us with your pricing, availability, at least two references, and any other important details (eg what products/services you provide yourself). Thanks!

  12. I am going back to work soon and need to teach my 8 week old daughter to take a bottle. She is exclusively breastfed up till this point. We have been practicing with bottles of expressed milk, but she is now becoming very frustrated when I offer her the bottle. We need help finding a solution for her to feed while I am away. If you have experience feeding babies and can work with us this August, please contact us. Also, if you have any advice or recommendations for people to contact or strategies to try, please post. Thanks!

  14. Hello, My girlfriend and I live in ED and we're looking to volunteer somewhere within walking distance (we don't have a car) of ED on Xmas day. We're not picky about what we do, just want to be helpful and part of community that is trying to help out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

At LB you can buy a coffee from AMT > on the upper walk-way too. Is EDW to LB to Gatwick all via train the best combination of fast and economical? It sounds like the cheapest option is taking the 196 bus to East Croydon, and then catching a train to Gatwick. The fastest option is probably Peckam Rye train to Victoria's Gatwick Express, but the Gatwick Express ticket is a bit pricey. I have both a student oyster card and a student rail card, btw.
