  1. Hi all We have just had our cleaner of 7 years tell us she can no longer work for us due to health issues and we are wanting to find a similar service with the chance for a long term relationship to be built up. We are open to which day you would like to come. Typically - it is 4 hours work per week in a two bedroom flat and will involve: Vacuuming all rooms Mopping floorboards and kitchen/bathroom Dusting and wiping down all surfaces/shutters Laundry - Changing and washing sheets/duvet covers in two bedrooms Clean kitchen Clean bathroom (1) Small amount of ironing (work shirts only) On rotation there will be a larger job on occasion such as cleaning internal windows, cleaning oven and cleaning out fridge. We are a busy working household and having a dependable and reliable cleaner is very important to us. Please get in touch via PM with your experience and your references, rates so we can make a quick decision. We are looking to build the kind of relationship we had with our previous cleaner and friend which extended to her baby sitting our daughter and doing school and pre school pick ups.
  2. Hi there - we are looking to freshen up our kitchen and hallway - need some cracks filled and some rough bits sanded back and then a fresh coat of paint to brighten the place up. Would like someone to come around and give us a quote to do this job. Cheers Shan
  3. I disagree entirely that there is no need for another primary school. Those above, such as @Dulwichborn&bred should go to www.findaschool.info and understand the anxiety that the tiny catchment areas are causing us up at the top of Underhill Road. Based on the accurate results of this website, us lucky people who live in a beautiful area have had our luck shot down as our property has never been in an area where it is close enough to a schoool With the birth rate in SE22 rising, the clamour for school places is only going to get worse, so revisit your comment and understand that the borderline area next to Lewisham and along Dulwich Common certainly needs another school.
  4. I have heard a rumour that there is a push to change the planning for the Grove from a licensed venue/hotel to a school. Given the fact SE22/21 are drastically short of primary school places, would this not be a better use for this site, given that Lordship Lane and Forest Hill have quite a number of pubs...
  5. hi I would like to add my recommendation for Margaret. She was able to give me a great blow dry at very short notice at my home. We got to talking about my colour and I tried her out last month and she has done a really thorough job - I have used Toni & Guy for years but was getting more and more disillusioned - not only is Margaret cheaper but she actually listened to what I wanted (I know this barnet better than anyone!) and the results were great. She is also a lovely person and very nice to have in your house. Margaret: 0792807 9233
  6. I totally agree with avoiding cream and chemical treatments for damp. I have seen them fail time and again. I used our p[lasterer to do a load of remedial damp work in our place, chipping plaster back to brick and then applying a waterproof sand and cement formula, then skimming - no issues at all. He explained the same thing to me, look for ways water can enter the property, where it can back up, condensation rather than damp etc. Saved us pennies - he did work for ?2000 which we were quoted ?5k by a PCA registered firm - as our guy is a plasterer by trade, the finish is like a billiard table - not so in other dampproof companies I have used in the past.
  7. Hi there - we have a few jobs that we need finishing in our flat. 30m of skirting boards to be fitted in hallway and bedroom, 20m of coving in bedroom and architraves around 3 interior doors. All the goods are in our house awaiting fitting - anyone have any recommendations for this it would be really appreciated. Thanks
  8. I had my 40th there a few weeks back - they managed a split up group of 14 people, with multiple orders, repeat orders and loads of wine - food was simply divine, service was spot on! Highly recommended.
  9. I just had a pretty disheartening experience at the East Dulwich Deli - the guy could not raise his greeting above a grunt, a smile might have shattered his face and I walked out feeling pretty pissed off on a lovely afternoon. Anyone else had this sort of exxperience in what is supposed to be one of the little jewels in ED?
  10. We came home with 2 pairs of kid's pink crocs size 6 yesterday from the playground in Dulwich Park - Sorry to someone who had to walk home in bare feet. Please PM me and we will deliver to rightful feet!
  11. Our neighbours were broken into in January - again, Lordship Lane end of Underhill - then in early February a burgler broke in through the French doors of a family opposite us when the Mum was bathing her child in bathroom. Stole handbag with car keys in and car was stolen. I saw a bobby on foot patrol yesterday - more of these needed!
  12. We live on Underhill Road and a distressed lady was walking along outside our house. Told us that she had her bag with phone and purse/diAry snatched today by two teenage boys who sprinted off in the direction of the Overhill Estate. Be careful everyone. This seems to be happening more and more lately.
  13. Elboonie, did you get sorted, my cleaner Violet has been with me for 5 years and she is really excellent and a lovely person, she also does the odd bit of babysitting. She is keen to get more work in this area as she is travelling a lot around London at the moment. Let me know. S
  14. I talked to Rose about a month ago and she said that although it was so very sad she would have to let the shop go as the rents had gone up so much and the independent feel of ED was going... The Hastings shop is where her heart is now... she also hinted that she thought there would be more closures on North Cross road due to rents being doubled almost in past few years.. How sad for all of us who love that area of ED
