  1. hi have you still got your jam jars? How many are there? Many thanks Sophie
  2. Deptford Green and Elm Green anecdotally have a more realistic and compassionate to kids differing needs. Whether that is still the case i'm not sure. Having 3 boys at Charter i would seriously consider a boys school if you have them, Charter East really aren't geared up for the different educational needs of some boys and the challenging behaviour this frustration leads to. I have heard amazing things about St Thomas the Apostle boys school.
  3. Still available, it's in good condition so shame to take it to the dump but it is heading there soon!
  4. 3 x litres water based eggshell furniture paint in Little Greene Dock Blue 252 1x litre oil based high opacity primer undercoat white Both are full unopened tins Collect from SE5
  5. Still available but must go soon. Seems a shame to dump it as its in good condition never left out over winter. This is used but all there, Telstar Vortex 12ft Oval trampoline. Got to make space in the garage. Free if you want one for the summer. Pick up SE5
  6. Hi has anyone got any feedback for good sixth form college recommendations? My son is being a bit vague about subject areas but i think would benefit from a more independent learning environment so i'm looking for a generally positive and supportive environment where he feels part of something and learns some skills post GCSE's. He can travel out of the area so any feedback very gratefully received!
  7. That's weird 2 years ago it was definitely one or the other not both. My son is at East doing A levels, i would say that generally there are some great teachers there and the kids form good relationships with their subject teachers but for me the overall management and crushing yet inconsistent behavioural policy really affects their day to day experience of learning. They are expected to attend the dreaded tutor time every morning even though they may not not have a lesson until much later, some kids might manage this but it gets very frustrating in the end. Maybe the same at North.
  8. hi we are considering the out of school options for our son in year 10 as school is really not working out for him. Some of the online options look pretty good but i am worried he might feel isolated. Just wondered whether anyone has any experience of patching something like this together for this age group? Any advice gratefully received.
  9. Hi does anyone have any feedback for Deptford Green at the mo? I'm thinking of moving my dyslexic son there but he is year 10 and i haven't seen it for a few years. It seems to have.a different head? Any advice gratefully received.
  10. Definitely agree with all of the above, i would advise anyone who has children who are not super academic and especially those with an SEN. to avoid! Charter East does not nurture it's children and operates a punitive behavioural policy which penalises SEN kids to the point of exclusions. The music, PE and art and drama department are woeful and the whole place is essentially oppressive. There are however some wonderful teachers there, at the moment. But seems to be a steady stream of male teachers leaving including the amazing deputy head which will be a huge loss. This school really has not found its feet since Mr Crossman left and i would seriously think twice if you have creative SEN boys especially.
  11. Hi a load of stuff has been dumped outside our flats, looks like its been stolen from a van or building site, tools etc. Looks like someone's livelihood so be good to reunite. PM if any info.
  12. Hi sorry if this has been covered already ,but how do i get the dates of posts to come up beside them. I used to find that really useful when looking for recent posts i knew exactly when something had been posted and by who. Thanks Joe.
  13. Has anyone had a bike stolen in the last 24 hours possibly from a garage in the Camberwell area? We have found 2 bikes this morning. Please PM me with details.
  14. My 12 year old son has given up football and since Covid his school's sports provision has been pitiful. He has expressed an interest in athletics and wondered if anyone can recommend a local club.Really trying to reestablish sporty habits. Cheers

  16. I totally understand that centres have had to limit numbers during these weird times and i finally managed to book a swim at Brockwell lido and would like to go with the kids as we used to, but the family sessions are all booked up at least a week in advance and its not even the hols yet. When i asked at the desk they said they are keeping the booking system after restrictions are lifted as they think its fairer!I cannot see how this is fair for anyone without a smart phone, anyone who justs fancies a swim that day, any kids who just want to meet up spontaneously and have a laugh because they are teenagers!any younger kids whose parents haven't downloaded the app and haven't got time to constantly watch the site for spaces when they go live! Personally i feel this will turn the lido into an exclusive club instead fulfilling the needs of its local community. Another public space lifted out of reach.
  17. Yes i'm having that problem too,it comes up as maileastdulwich forum which is new. Says its insecure.
  18. Hi,just wondering if anyone has had any experience of seeing a dermatologist and could recommend one? My 14 year old has had fairly severe acne for over a year which we have been treating with prescribed antibiotics with some success but i feel like our GP is maybe running out of options so would like to speak to a specialist. Any advice gratefully received.
  19. Has anyone had experience of kids going swimming recently? All the family slots seem to be booked and i'm wondering whether its worth it as it's all lane swimming so no chance of 12 year old fun! Can never get through to the lido, think its the same scenario. Anyone know the score on bigger boys going swimming in post pandemic times?
  20. Yes definately a millstone.
  21. You absolute super stars thankyou very much! Yes its the underpass of course, couldn't figure out why it was an odd shape. Now i can drive round hyde park corner for free,Joy! Cheers all.
  22. Hi does anyone know about that weird bit of the conjestion charge zone that sticks out across Hyde Park Corner? I crossed it today i think but didn't enter the main zone.Cannot find any clarity in any online search, might have to just pay it in case.No postcode for Hyde Pk corner so the checker is no use.
