  4. Lovely to see so many of you this morning. Good luck with all your planned events this quarter.
  5. Thank you very much for the kind review. It was a really lovely occasion, glad to help it go with a swing! It was also the first time we have had The Frog Prince, perform at the cafe, & he was very good indeed I thought.
  6. COCO & THE SUNSHINE CAT is a children's picture book aimed at age 2 - 4, written and illustrated by paper artist Lizzie Thomas. This book helps to soothe a child to sleep by telling the story of Coco, a young girl, who is afraid of the dark. Through a midnight adventure with the Sunshine Cat she learns to overcome her fear and teary bedtimes are no more. Lizzie combines her entertaining story with beautifully handcrafted illustrations that really engage a child's attention and settle them for a happy night's sleep. Come along at 11am on Wednesday 3rd of June to join in with the fun. Local author Lizzie Thomas will read her draft book, & your child can decorate cat ears or have their face painted with noses & whiskers! This event is free of charge and aimed at 2 to 5 year olds. The Dish & the Spoon cafe, 61 Cheltenham road, SE15 3AF.
  7. Having been recommended the services of Micky Lawless Plastering Services by a family in Nunhead, we used him recently. I would just like to recommend him now as well to anyone in the local area wanting a reliable, hardworking plasterer & team. Micky was able to come out quickly to look at the job, gave a reasonable quotation, completes the job on time despite a plumbing issue that was only detected after he'd started, & the final job was exactly the price quoted. I am happy to answer any questions anyone may have on the job he did. You can contact him on 07930 678 989.
  8. Hi Ellie We are not open at weekends yet. If you would like more information our Facebook page has up to date opening hours. Thank you
  9. Hi Mustard Yes we are now closing at 3pm. We used to stay open later but found that trade was not strong in the afternoons, it is not unusual for us to have had our lunch rush by midday due to the high numbers of mums with younger children who eat early. We are now planning to use the time for bookable after school activities, such as a GCSE Maths revision course, & hopefully after school club. If anyone has any other good ideas for activities they'd be interested in booking up for just DM them. Thanks
  10. Hi Shan Lovely work. Would definately be interested in displaying it. I currently have 1 artist who has a small amount of work to display and we have discussed a joint exhibition with maybe an evening of talks with the artists, if that is something you'd like to do. Anyway thanks for getting in touch.
  11. Hi The survey is genuine. We are working with Anchor Tutors to try & understand the tutoring requirements of parents with 11 to 18 year olds with a view to starting afternoon tutoring sessions at the cafe. We know many parents with children in this age group use the family room and would like to engage with them. It is normal for surveys to offer an appropriate incentive which the half price tutoring session is. The data collected is only going to be used to try and create the best sessions we can. If anyone can suggest a better way to find & discuss this with the parents of local senior school children then please feel free to suggest it.
  12. The Dish & the Spoon cafe, located in Nunhead, on Cheltenham Road (near Peckham Rye park) is looking for local artists who would like to display their work, with opportunities to do private view events to promote your work. The only caveat to this invitation is work must be family friendly, as the cafe is used predominantly by parents with young children. If you are interested please contact via PM. Thanks.
  13. Hi All We reopened last Friday for takeaway coffee, cake, sandwiches, whilst we finish off the last decorative bits. At present we are just open week days to allow maintainable work at weekends. But we will be offering Party hire again in April. And looking to establish an after school club once the right partner organisation can be found. Thanks for the messages all, much appreciated. The Dish & the Spoon
