I really hope Bertie is on the mend. I had one horrifying instance when my cat got out the front, ran into the road and was paralysed by fear as a car approached - luckily they stopped. I sometimes chase cats out of the road as cars approach, just in case.

Earlier today a large ginger and white cat was stuck up a tree and then apparently hit by a car in Ondine Road. It was taken to the Neighbourhood Vets on Lordship Lane. I'm hoping it was chipped and its owner has been alerted already, but I'm posting this just in case. Sorry but I've no further info – I was asked to post this by a neighbour. Fingers crossed the cat is OK.

I?ve lost several hanging baskets and a rose bush. I?ve resigned myself to not having a Christmas wreath - it wouldn?t last the month. Sorry this has happened to you.

I wouldn?t necessarily trust that site. I went to collect a parcel one evening when the PO was meant to be open but it was just the shop part still open.

Last night a rose bush was dug up and stolen from our front garden. How can we stop this?

They?ve just been nicked. I know it?s hardly crime of the century, but still upsetting and annoying as we spent time and money on them. Complete and utter b*stards.

Just seen 3 people give money. I was on the other side of the road so watched him walk away. I don?t think I?ve ever seen anyone who?s has a bike accident looking quite so happy.

It?s worth phoning to complain if you want to make sure you get a refund, in my experience.

A big thanks to Nigel and his team, who have just done most if not all of the above in my own garden! It looks neater than it has in years, with everything trimmed back and tidied up. There is now space for existing plants to thrive and some new ferns and hellebores have been planted. They also thoroughly cleaned the deck and patio. I?m happy to say I won?t be spending the winter looking out the window and feeling guilty for letting things get out of hand, but will soon be admiring the daffodils and tulips and looking forward to spending time outside! Thanks again, Nigel and co, for a great job.

One day last week I spotted what I hoped was an enormous mouse in a garden on my road. Yesterday around 6pm there were two fox cubs in my garden playing with a dead rat, much in the way my cat plays with her mouse toy. There can't just be one or two rats about, can there? This is the first time I've seen a rat in the area and I've been here over 10 years.

Virgin claim there is no problem in the area, although they admit lots of people in the area have engineers booked! So if anyone is just waiting in the hope it will get fixed, please give them a call. By the time the engineer comes we'll have had 7 days without tv or internet.

Not just you! We called last night to log it as it's showing up as fixed on the status page.

SIG have just paid me a visit. They're very convincing and say it's your last chance, it has to be today, and so on, all they want to do is take a look at the loft, it will take 30 seconds. I asked for more information but they didn't have anything to give me. They implied they were working on behalf of the energy companies but had nothing official to show for it. I was persuaded to say OK to a later appointment, then thought better of it and when they came back I told them to go away. I know I wouldn't have ended up being scammed but it worries me how easily I might have let someone into my home, just to have a look. Yikes. Kate

I think the online consultation form included more streets than were leafleted. I'm in a surrounding street and was able to use the online form. And I got a letter in reply from Veronica Ward and Peter John, which includes the line: "Please be assured that if the objections outweigh support then the CPZ will not happen."

A couple of months ago I emailed Southwark to complain about the green bags no longer having handles, as the first trial batch did. I mentioned that they'd end up needing to supply more bags as you could only half fill them to be able to tie them up properly. They called me back the next day to explain that they had done a survey and people had said they didn't use the handles (whatever that means), so they had gone to cheaper ones without handles. I was at work so didn't discuss it any further.
