  1. It's Goodrich School Summer Fete this Saturday, from 3-5pm. Entrance is through the main school gate on Dunstans Road. There will be lots of games and activities for kids (lucky dip, hook-a-duck, badgemaking, beat the goalie, teddy tombola, glitter tattoos and more); food and drink stalls including hot dogs, biryani, cafe, bar, ice pops and tuck shop; and children's books, plants and second hand Goodrich uniform; raffle with some fantastic prizes; plus entertainment from a teacher/parent band. Everyone welcome, ?1 entry. If you live locally and are thinking about primary schools for your child it's also a great opportunity to see the school and the Goodrich community in action!
  2. My children are at Goodrich (the oldest in Year 4) and we have been really happy with the school. It is one of the larger schools in the area but it really doesn't feel like that when you're in the school. It's a friendly school with a great community and I think the size also brings lots of opportunities - and sets them up well for moving on to secondary (not that that will be on your mind yet!) I do agree with the other comments though - there are loads of good schools in the area so I don't think there are any bad options.
  3. Friends of Goodrich school are organising a Winter Trail today - perfect if you?re looking for a local festive event this afternoon. Start the trail at the main school gates on Dunstans Road and find the hidden letters from 11 decorated windows in streets around the school to collect a reward. Visit stalls on the way, including cakes, mulled wine, glitter tattoos, hot dogs and more. The event will run 1-3pm. Trail sheets are ?1.
  4. Thanks so much for putting the show on this morning. My children really enjoyed it - and it even delivered the promised 45 minutes of peace!
  5. Yes! We use Wayne too so have his new card. There are two numbers - 07956 548712 and 07308 659976. I think one is his brother Darren.
  6. We are after some oak doors of non standard sizes for a utility cupboard space. Can anyone recommend a joiner or door company who could do this? Thanks
  7. Thanks for responses. For future reference for anyone who comes across this thread, the visitor car park at the hospital was pretty much empty at 7.10am so we had no trouble parking.
  8. I have to be at Lewisham hospital at 7.30am tomorrow and likely to be there most of the day with my daughter (age 6) who is having an operation. The nurse on the unit said that there is parking available and that it would be ?6 for the day as she is having a procedure. However, I can?t see any information on parking on the hospital website, other than to suggest it is very limited and costs ?2 for the first hour and ?1 for every 30 mins thereafter. Has anyone been there recently?
  9. Pleased to report that the bunny and its owner are reunited!
  10. We went by just now and someone had moved it and hung it off a wall. It was looking a little bedraggled so I have now retrieved it and taken it home. PM me to arrange collection!
  11. He's on a bin near the junction of Goodrich and Friern Roads

  13. Has anyone had Karndean flooring laid and if so who did you use and would you recommend them?
  14. I have two children at Gumboots and am really happy with it. The garden especially is a fantastic facility and has lots of equipment. There have been a few temporary staff recently after some departures but there have been several new appointees and things seem to be settling down again. The baby room has a really nice atmosphere - several of the staff have been there for years and it's very caring. I'm pretty sure Gumboots don't do half days.
  15. I would get a roofer to take a look - they can cap it and also check that there aren't other problems - we recently had one capped and made watertight by Russell Perring (RJP Roofing). He has lots of recommendations on this forum.
