  8. Hi, I've really noticed it & this is with windows closed. Sounds like they are landing on top of you about 5.30am. Friends who stayed over the weekend complained as they live in South Manchester & said how much worse it was here. Have taken to sleeping with earplugs in, if I really need a good nights sleep. Hopefully will get better after the summer!
  9. Oyster apparently not until 2010! Long time to wait.
  10. Here is the reply I got from Southern re ticket machine: Thank you for your email regarding East Dulwich Station. Please accept my apologies for all the frustration caused due to the unscheduled closure of the above ticket office. I have been in contact with the Duty Station Manager who has informed me that they were required to give the resident clerk leave at short notice and were therefore unable to find cover. However, they have been trying their best to have someone there during the morning peak to sell tickets. With regards to the ticket machine, they are aware of the problems last week and again this was due to the staff shortages at the station as the machine had run out of tickets. He has been making sure that this machine is refilled every morning. They have also confirmed that they have requested a second machine to be installed at the above station. We do hope to have a normal service resumed within the next few weeks and I apologise for all the frustration that has been caused in the meantime.
  11. The machine was down nearly all last week and ticket office called. They say at London Bridge & Charing Cross it happens regularly at ED. So have't been fined but a pain queueing to get a ticket. Will try newsagent next time!

  13. Separate events I reckon. Emergency testing is becoming more common to ensure that systems work smoothly. As so much went wrong in the recent floodings in the Midlands & North councils are trying to ensure they have plans in place to cope with floods, tornados, natural disasters, chemical/biological weapon attacks at some point.
  14. Got mine this morning as well - post man said he'd delivered at least 30 in ED. It is fabulous.

  16. Hi, Oakhurst Grove is great although rare that you can park outside your own place. lovely & quiet but really close to Northcross rd for the market, thai corner cafe. shops etc. only takes me a 12 min fast walk to the station. Tilts are ok, fixed stuff for me the day after reporting faults. welcome to ED. Best start writing the 6 presentations I have to do!
  17. Hi, it's lovely I live just round the corner from there. Tilt estates own a lot of the property around there & let it through http://www.propertyindulwich.com/lettings.htm . One studio flat on at the moment. You'll love it. welcome back
  18. if happens again call the noise police!
  19. I must be lucky ordered 2 bags & a box over the internet came next day. Seperate plastic & glass with the separator in blue box. nice & easy. they leave the bags in the boxes back where I leave them and took the large box I could not fold down. So I think they are doing a great job.
  20. Well, I am a single girl & got a smile from 2 guys yesterday on my way to the dentist. A hello gorgeous & a hello beautiful. Didn't feel scary or wrong. Made me smile & say hello back. they were just being nice. As I hate going to the dentist then gave me a spring in my step & made me smile. So keep on the hellos. As I'm a Northern originally tend to smile at folks & usually gets a favorable response. Happy days

  25. Hi, Dulwich Medical Centre on Crystal Palace Rd is good. Tel 02086932727. As long as you are not bothered about seeing the same doctor each time as it is a big practice. Nice doctors & nurses (do holiday injections) and a great physio as well.
