  1. I was on a plane once where the air hostess said over the tannoy that 'There is no smoking allowed, there are sensors on the plane and in the toilet so if anyone is caught they will be immediately ejected from the plane'. She also said once we had landed to 'please keep our seatbelts on until we come to a stnadstill at the terminal as although the pilot is good at flying, he is not so good at driving' ho ho ho
  2. are they honey bees or big bumble bees? I only ever really see big bumble bees
  3. I wouldn't call The Ritzy an excellent reaxing place to watch a movie, it's nothing but chaos in there whenever i've been, never had a pleasant experience in there to be honest. The Greenwich picture house, now there's a nice relaxing place to watch a movie, so much better in everyway.
  4. It's in the shade, the drass won't grow well. There is a grass seed available (see the main garden centres) that is specially designed for areas of your garden that sit in the shade. Not 100% sure of it's effectiveness but it's a possibility.
  5. Bear in mind I haven't been to The Herne Tavern in a while (for the reasons i'm about to highlight) so forgive me if this isn't still true but I think the biggest issue the beer garden has there is the huge extractor flu from the kitchen that is way too loud and also blows out chip fat grease and smell all day creating not the most relaxing or pleasant place to have a drink. The other problem I think is the way it seems to be divided up into loads of different sections by all those banks, it's all a bit weird. Has potential to be a good pub for everyone I reckon if that all gets sorted.
  6. How about, it makes sense because the sooner this junction is made safe the better!!! Why should people care how you get to work when lives are at stake. Get off the bus and walk!!!!
  7. I can't actually believe everyone on this thread, this is one of the most dangerous junctions i've ever seen, where people have been injured and killed in the past. People have been trying to get the council to do somthing about it for ages. Finally something starts to happen and I actually think every single post on these 2 pages is that of someone bitching and moaning. Incredible!!!! 8 weeks of road works is a small price to pay, shame on all of you
  8. What if the local pastor is interested in getting into the illegal rave scene/business?
  9. From Katrusja's comment below 8) Finally, the congestion around HOP in the evenings causes severe disruption to existing services (P4/P12). How would this be dealt with This can easily be dealt with if the parked cars at the lights at the end of Honor Oak Parade were not allowed to park there. I'd say around 70% of the cars in the traffic jam that builds up want to turn left, there is a left filter light which comes on way before the full green light, however this filter becomes blocked leaving left turing cars frustrated as they can see clear road ahead which is blocked by traffic stuck on red wanting to go straight ahead or right and these parked cars. A simple fix to avoid the huge traffic jams that go all the way up Honor Oak Park sometimes into Forest Hill Road
  10. Olympics/Paralympics are now but a distant but much cherished memory ...and I nearly saw a pile up at this junction yesterday. Any news?
  11. Didn't thre used to be a cinema above the EDT?
  12. but then people will still be jumping the lights to turn right onto Peckham Rye to try and get through as there is rarely an opportunity to do it legally!!! It needs a right turn filter or better simply have the lights stay on for an extra 6 or 7 seconds when coming from East Dulwich It seems such a simple thing to do
  13. Agreed, it's almost as if the lights stay green for 3 or 4 seconds longer for traffic coming from Nunhead, surely not all the time, every driver coming from that direction jumps the lights? Does anyone know if this isn't the case? My hearts in my mouth everytime I need to turn right onto Peckham Rye from East Dulwich Road Absolute NIGHTMARE junction
  14. Just had a look at the 63 bus time table, am I right in understanding these buses come through almost every 5 minutes of the day? Is it warranted for it to come through on such a frequesnt basis? Was going to ask dbboy why he/she's so het up about it but this kind of justifies his/her comments a little
