  1. We're thinking of getting Lazylawn or similar for our small garden - does anyone have any experience of this and can you recommend someone who provides this service at a reasonable price? Thanks!
  2. Try my neighbour, Frances Carlisle. She has just set up on her own and specialises in portraits and weddings, and has a nice natural style: www.francescarlisle.co.uk
  3. I recommend going to TK Maxx and then you can try on lots of different brands. I bought a plain black Nike ACG waterproof from there a couple of years ago and resented paying ?90 for it at the time but bf talked me into it, he's all about the outdoor gear. It is truly waterproof and I have got so much wear out of it that it was totally worth the money.
  4. Does anyone have experience of buying small quantities of turf? We're looking to lay some in our garden over the next couple of weeks - looking at the B&Q website the minimum order is 40 rolls and we don't need anywhere near that quantity. Any recommendations appreciated!
  5. I can recommend Stevie Thomas, mobile hairdresser who did mine and my toddler's hair at home. She is really reasonably priced (?20 for both of us - a wet cut for me) and was very good with my little boy - I wasn't sure how it would go as it was his first haircut, but I think seeing mummy having it done first and being at home definitely helped. Here's a link to her ad: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1194850,1214773#msg-1214773
  6. I agree - a great Saturday morning family activity. Such a lovely location and plenty to keep the kids amused - outdoor musical instruments, farm animals etc... and of course the museum itself if it rains. The market is small but hopefully it will grow in time, and there is a great (and cheap) veg stall. Free parking at Sainsbury's Forest hill for 2 hours - just walk up the hill.
  7. Forgot to give you Obi's website, here it is: http://www.objcoaching.com/index.html
  8. I can highly recommend Obi James, business coach who lives locally - I went to see her when I was made redundant and she was incredibly helpful. Good luck!
  9. Hello, I can highly recommend Obi James, a local life coach who specialises in business coaching. I have had a few sessions with her now and she is brilliant, has kept me on track and encouraged me to stop procrastinating and put plans into action. She offers free sample sessions so you can 'try before you buy'! Her website is www.objcoaching.com Good luck!
  10. I agree with the others, I had a similar thing with my 9 month old who has never been overly interested in food. It was becoming incredibly frustrating and boring trying to get any food down him, so eventually I decided to stop stressing myself about it - if he didn't want to eat then I would just give him a bottle instead. Only in the last week has he started to show more appetite and I have been able to shovel it down which is great! But probably things will change again next week!
  11. TK Maxx Lewisham or New Cross definitely worth a visit, I find it best to focus on one thing e.g. shoes or underwear or dresses, so as not to get overwhelmed! And I agree Peacocks is surprisingly good, every time I go in I come out with a couple of gems - recently these have included a great linen dress and smart work tops. There's a store on Rye Lane and a larger one in Camberwell. Always worth scouting for more expensive labels you love on Ebay too - you can get some real bargains that way.
  12. Hiya I find no matter how knackered I feel in the morning a hot shower always revives me. I think blusher is the one item of make-up that instantly makes a difference (I use Bobbi Brown) and I brush some on before leaving the house - takes two seconds. I also try and get out of the house every day for a walk, fresh air and exercise does wonders for the complexion! Only one pair of my old trousers fit me, and after coming to terms with the fact that I need to go two sizes bigger I have bought a few pairs of chinos from Primark (?11) and they are great - comfortable and available in cheery colours as well as flattering grey and black. I have also bought a pair of jeans that actually fit, from Fenton Walsh - much easier to shop for these locally rather than traipsing into town, and choose from a smaller range with shop assistant there to help you. Hope this helps!
