  1. We are planning to travel to NYC for a wedding in November, we will (probably) stay in NYC for 3-4 days and then would like to head Upstate (with the rest of the wedding party) for Thankgiving and a couple of days if there's enough to see / do or come back for another night or two in NYC on the way back. We will hire a car to drive Upstate. Total trip maximum length is 10 days but we could go shorter. It's just my partner and I and our daughter who will be nearly 3. Can anyone recommend places to go Upstate? The family will be based in Woodstock but is there anything to see / do around there at this time of year? I know it will be cold so hoping for some festive stuff and family friendly stuff really? Also if anyone wants to recommend a family friendly place to stay then please go ahead. We are OK for the NYC bit as been before but a bit stuck on Upstate. Many thanks!
  2. we are moving out of our house in a few weeks and I would like to organise the above. Last time I used our regular cleaner who didn't do nearly enough of a thorough job, we now have a different cleaner who is fantastic but sadly not available on the date we need it. Can anyone recommend anyone locally? Thanks
  3. Hi, My 2.5yr old daughter has some problems with saying particular sounds (mostly eee, ooo and y sounds). Her nursery have recommended referring her to the SLT team which is good but I've just spoken to them on the phone and the wait time is 18 weeks. We are actually leaving the area in 2 months relocating up North and I am wondering if there's anyone she could see privately sooner? Many thanks
  4. My partner and I have (finally) decided to crack on with getting married (engaged 2 years and have a 2 yr old daughter). We are planning to have a low key registry office wedding (not yet booked) hopefully in late September this year with family only attending. Before we book the registrar I am looking for suggestions on places for a family lunch that have: - Private room for 14 people - Disabled access and toilets (94 yr old grandma attending, not in wheelchair but can't do stairs / walk far) - Will allow us to have 3 children under 5 eating (causing havoc) in the room too - Yummy food and wine Budget not really a huge issue as there's so few of us so happy to splash out a bit. We live in ED but will happily go anywhere in central ish London. The wedding will be on a Thursday or Friday with late lunch afterwards. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  5. These guys are based in Nunhead and have a ?100 off for any bookings made this month! I've seen them play at a few gigs and they really get the crowd going! https://www.facebook.com/CoverFlowBand
  6. Have a look at Neilson holidays. We've been to two of the Greek resorts for the first week of October, weather mostly sunny and hot. I would imagine the resorts in Turkey will be hotter/sunnier at that time also. Excellent holidays with brilliant childcare (which is free for over 2s).
  7. Thanks, I will definitely check out Ivydale again next week when everything is back up and running! Midivydale will PM you.
  8. Hello, We have recently moved to the Nunhead area, on Athenlay Road towards the Honor Oak end. I'm hoping to find some play dates for my daughter who is 19 months locally and also meet some new mums/dads. I work 2.5 days a week but we are always free on Mon & Tues and some Fridays too so if anyone is around with a child of a similar (ish) age and would like to meet up in the park / dish & spoon / garden then let me know. I know there are quite a few things on at Ivydale school, are there any other groups nearby that people would recommend? Thanks v much
  9. Hi, We are looking for a babysitter for tomorrow (Friday) evening for our daughter (16 months). I would ideally like someone I can meet before hand, today or tomorrow. If you're free then please PM me with your rate and references and if you're available to have a quick meet up today or tomorrow before hand. Many thanks
  10. Hi, Is cheeky c's running today? We tried to register last wk but didn't hear back...hope it is?!

  12. Hi, I am running Peekaboo Nearly New Baby & Toddler sale in June at JAGS. Following our sale in April, I've done some market research into what people want at this sale other than the obvious second hand toys, clothes & equipment. I've had an overwhelming response to say that families really need more information on what is available locally in terms of classes and groups aimed at parents and their babies / toddlers. For this reason I am welcoming any local groups to get in touch with me and see how we can promote you on the day. I already have Baby Sensory coming along and doing a free session but it would be great to get some other classes/entertainment promoted there too. If you'd like to get involved please reply to this thread / PM me and I will get in touch. Thanks Cathy
  13. Thanks very much for all the wonderful feedback so far, this has been a really useful exercise! One more week to go if anyone else would like to enter. Link is here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WYSRLT8 Thanks
  14. Thanks for all the answers and comments so far, there are some really useful ideas in there so please keep them coming.
  15. Hi, I am looking for mums to be to take part in a very short survey about how you are preparing for your new arrival. It's really quick (no more than a few mins) and is completed online. As an incentive I'll be giving away a Burt's Bees Baby 'getting started' kit to one lucky respondent when the survey closes on May 25th. Once you have completed it please reply to this thread to let me know so that I can contact the winner. Click here to take survey Many thanks & good luck!
