  1. If they're allowed to stay open I'll eat there (as long as the food is good). Food Inspectors can be a bit challenging...

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the source of the ingredients. Some of the meat used in the catering industry is well dodgy. Do the food inspectors look at this?

You've got more chance of being poisoned at home or in a friend's house anyway.

  2. If not finished try putting in a potato(e) which may soak it up.

Otherwise advise a copious side serving of full-fat yoghurt. Just eat and enjoy the endorphin rush.

Jah Lush is right fresh chillies much better though especially if cooking for many, serve extra them on the side for chilliheads

  3. I travel from the top end of Lordship Lane to Euston occasionally and take a 185 bus to Vauxhall (20 minutes) then the Victoria line to Euston (10 minutes).

In rush hour the 185 will be about 40 minutes though

  4. If you're driving, please, please, give way to people coming up the hill.

This is in particular aimed towards the tw*t who forced me to stop on Upland Rd (even though there was loads of room for him to pull over).

I've pretty experienced in the snow , 1000s of miles under my belt, but a hill start is never easy in it. I almost gave up near the top and reversed back to Goodrich.

  5. I tried to help a relative sell some furniture bought in Japan on eBay, similar prices, he was taken aback that no-one wanted to buy a wardrobe he'd paid close to ?2k for, even on a ?50 starting price.

No-one wanted it. He's still got it several years later and has paid as much again in storage probably. I would try the auction house or accept a low price...

In all seriousness, I would take a wonder round during the evenings when something is on and listen. It's the only way you'll know for sure.

  7. I lived next door to a different church before and had hassle from the next door neighbours dogs and the neighbours above (who woke me at 0200 every Sunday morning coming back from clubbing to party more).

The church I barely even noticed, churchgoers tend to be a fairly respectful bunch.

Can you view the house during a church service to see how it is? I would recommend doing that with any property. A house that is serene and peaceful at 3pm when you're shown around can be hell on earth at midnight.

Incidentally I live round the corner - away from the church though - and it's sublimely peaceful.

Male urine. Decant it using an old water bottle or similar in the affected areas. Should push the foxes out.

  9. That's where I used peelaway on intricate bits. Excellent, you just paste it on and cover with cling-film for 24 hours.

A bit messy and way more expensive than the old-fashioned Nitromors, but worth it if you don't have much to do (you can buy ?15 a sample which will do a few metres of dado rail for instance).

  10. I took some Nitromors back to B&Q for a refund. Useless. I remember it being effective 20 years ago but not now.

I did try peelaway, which was excellent; but very expensive.

In the end I spent ?20 on a heat gun from Wickes. One of my best DIY purchases.

Wish I had done that! In the past I've just taken it down myself after a week if it hasn't been removed and binned it.

From memory most agents seem to take them back themselves.

  12. I do it myself, I go in the last 10 seconds and put in my absolute maximum bid. Works perhaps 75% of the time. If I'm beaten, so be it. Someone clearly thought the item worth more than I did.

Apart from convenience (not having to wake at 3am to snatch a magnum of Chateu Petrus for 99p), I struggle to see what's unethical?

I'd argue that they're ethical because they save people getting carried away with their emotions and bidding more than the item is worth?
