  1. Long shot, in case anyone picked it up. Full of lovely fresh pens and highlighters and compass and protractor for back to school.
  2. Perhaps such a thing does not exist, but wondering if anyone's come across any day camps/half day camps that run on weekend days for kids? As an alternative to getting a babysitter/nanny for the day.
  3. White mould on timber eaves in an attic space. Thanks!
  4. Can anyone point me in the direction of a local tailor. I attempted to take in the straps of a jumpsuit myself and, of course, botched it. Think I need to take it somewhere to see if the damage can be reversed! Might need to try it on for the tailor, which is why local dry cleaner not ideal. Thanks!
  5. Thanks all, there were lots of helpful responses here. Just got mine done at Guys, you go to the counting house to register and then it?s Bermondsey Wing vaccination centre 3 today, open til 7pm. Really efficient service (once you find the right buildings)! Particular thanks just_browsing x https://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/images/m/maps/hospital-maps/20170104-guys-map.jpg just_browsing Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You can just walk into Guy's and they will do > it(my second vaccine was four months ago). 20 > minute wait yesterday.
  6. I'm a week short of it being six months since my second Covid-19 vaccination. My sister and brother in law walked in to a vaccination centre in Stratford and were given their boosters a few weeks early. I was turned away from Fourway Pharmacy today as I'm a few days short of 180 days since my last vaccination. Does anyone know what my chances might be if I turn up to Denmark Hill or Guys vaccination centres - or have intel on anywhere else that might help? Thanks in advance...
  7. Long shot in case anyone knows/has contact details for Dylan (afraid I cannot remember surname and didn't store his mobile number...so not very promising)! He's a sole trader providing floor sanding services, think he lives in Kent. He did our bedroom floors nearly 10 years ago now and did such a good job I would love to use him to sand them again, but alas cannot find his details. I think I got his details from the forum originally but searching isn't bringing up any results.
  8. Alas I just lost one of my airpods somewhere between Health Matters and SMBS on Lordship Lane around 5pm this afternoon (a white wireless earphone). I had a look up and down that stretch once I realised, but to no avail. In case anyone spots it! Cursing myself - adjusted my mask, hat and scarf at one point and it probably popped out around then or soon after. Doh...
  9. Thanks so much for the tips! Andynic, that recycle now link is by far the most helpful I've come across, and thanks for the Sainsburys info, will get on it. Malumbu - I share your frustration; the recycle now link is definitely worth checking out. Agree there should be much more pressure on manufacturers and retailers from government. Nxjen - most of the bags I have don't have handles but agree they may be helpful to food banks - will try that route too. Thanks all!
  10. I have a bunch of "04" plastic bags, made of LDPE (low density polyethylene). No joy with a response from the council on where I might recycle them - anyone have any idea? Trying to reuse some as bin liners.
  11. We have a long garden that needs a bit of new inspiration, but we alas we don't have the budget for a full garden design and landscaping service. Wondering if any garden designers out there provide a general advice service. We'd love someone to look over and sense check the plans we've pulled together ourselves, and help us consider the best spot to re-site our shed to. We don't need plans drawn up but would be happy to pay someone experienced to sit down with us and kick some ideas about. If this sounds of interest to anyone, or anyone has any recommendations, would be grateful for details. Feel free to reply to this message or PM me - thanks!
  12. I came across this thread and the recommendations for Andy and had a massage by him today - I was blown away. He treated my really knotty shoulders and neck, locating trigger points precisely, the kind of massage that feels like it's addressing the underlying issues rather than just being superficially relaxing. But it was also super relaxing! I left feeling really energised and walking taller. It's been ages that I've had a massage that was so expert. Highly recommend. 13. I also wanted to add a recommendation for Nick. I had refresher lessons with him four years ago, having not driven much since my test and needing to brush up. That got me pootling around London pretty happily. I had a refresher lesson on motorway driving with him today and finally conquered my fear of 3 lane highways full of lorries - no small feat! He is very encouraging, patient, knowledgeable and hugely experienced and a pleasure to chat with - it was surprisingly fun. He was also happy to take me out in my own car, which was great. Just what I needed - wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to brush up skills and boost their driving confidence. Think the contact details are up the chain here, but anyway its www.nicholasdrivingacademy.co.uk, ph 07956 221706. Elly
  14. Thanks everyone who very kindly got in touch, all sorted now!
  15. Just been out walking with family in the countryside and fell into a hole! Think it might be a sprain but desperate to avoid an A&E trip. Anyone have a set of crutches I could use - I'm 5'4. can't really be stuck on the couch with two little ones running around!
  16. Need to get to Wimbledon Chase this afternoon - parking at Tulse Hill to get the Thameslink seems the quickest way but not sure about parking. Thanks
  17. Ba mhaith liom sin! Will pm you. X
  18. Great ideas, thanks EmilyPie and Belle, much appreciated!
  19. Another rainy day predicted tomorrow; any suggestions for indoor toddler activities? I was counting on Gambados being open today, but it's shut due to storm damage til further notice. Any inspiration for staving-off a two year old's cabin fever greatly appreciated! Yet another trip in wet weather gear to the playground is likely to be met with mutiny. (Apologies EDF'ers for posting this in the wrong discussion forum initially)!
  20. Hi, December has creeped up on us from nowhere and we were hoping to get some jobs done before Christmas. Namely sanding, filling, painting and putting new door furniture on our front door, and replacing the tiles on our fireplace hearth - our new tiles arrive tomorrow. Our usual tradesmen and women are already tied-up on jobs - any professionals out there who might have time to do one or both jobs at any point before 24 December? If so, grateful if you could PM me your details, any references etc. Thanks, Elsha
  21. Anyone have an update on this? Keen to bring the little one along today, but it is a bit of a trek for us...
  22. Hello all, Am due with first baby at the end of January, and was thinking of hiring a post-natal doula to help out for a few hours a day for the first week or so with the new arrival. Anyone have recommendations? Elly
