  1. This is in the Family Room Discussion but it seems to have hit the ground running: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,500377
  2. Thanks cookie. I asked him about getting to Kingsdale in September but I realise that with his near horizons, we need to get beyond the school disco, summer holidays and his delayed birthday party first.
  3. Our 3yr old has been known to sleep through movies and concerts so might be a good idea to time it when your little one has had his/her nap.
  4. I'm afraid it's only a major refurbishment. You may be interested to know that the building was designed by the same architect who designed the southbank power station that became Tate Modern. He also designed the old style GPO phone box. You can see a brick motif throughout I suppose.
  5. Thanks Oggy, I'll put that to him nearer the time. We live in Tyrrell Road so that might be quite convenient. He's now very independent so he might just want to catch a regular bus.Or, he may want to hook up with is contemporaries from Lyndhurst. I'd like him to get to know more kids from ED but I reckon that will happen in due course. Anxious, moi?
  6. met Jeremy Bowen at a party in Camberwell on Saturday. Not sure if that counts but we did talk about pesky foxes which are common to both Camberwell and ED . . . .
  7. Labrynth by Kate Mosse. Probably been read by most but it was "a good read".
  8. I uncovered a nest in the garden which had a number of the winged mini beasts. This item from the interweb may help explain: Where do flying ants come from? During the late summer the nest produces winged ants, often called flying ants. These are not a different type of ant, but are the new queen ants and males. These can be produced in large quantities and although they can cause alarm and short-term nuisance, they are harmless. If flying ants get into your house then open your windows to allow them to fly out. The new queens and males mate and the queens establish new nests. After mating, the males die but the females shed their wings and dig a cell in the soil where they may start new nests. The whole process only lasts for between two and three hours.
  9. These online mthods are usually pretty good at passing on things you no longer want but could be of use to another: www.streetbank.com http://www.ilovefreegle.org/ or even http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/list.php?9
