  1. Give it to the down and outs and alcohol fueled fellas who walk the streets at night. Make Dulwich the sweetest smelling place in the world for vagrants. lol
  2. I actually bought it for video and photographic editing, Bob - Which I have Final cut and aperature for, but want to move completely over to it as my main comp system. Best wordprocessing on Mac would be a good start. Anything I need to know with regard to video playback software on the net. I noticed it doesn't play all vid files being Quicktime based... Anything you recommend to make this a fully fit system so I do not revert back to my PC.
  3. Hi guys, I have just left the world of PC and bought a MacBook Pro. What software is a must to buy... do I parrell it or use it as a stand aloan machine? Any place I can go for cut price software? Do share.
  4. There is a new Wolfman film coming out. Maybe Benico Del Toro is just stuck in character and decided to rampage SE15 for their sins. Lol
  5. I do actually. They could happily take the place of the dreaded Vale and actually bring in some custom... Oh and a plane load of ozzies!
  6. I believe the expression "Your dad has had more bums than a toilet seat" was always a starter of a good old dingdong. Well seeing that it kicked off in a toilet with 10 men.... maybe that was the case. And the dad in questions son was suitably offended and decided that a fight with some chairs was the way to go as the toilet that started it was bolted down.
  7. i said in the style they allow bands to play - not the actual bar! lol
  8. it's amazing what the expression 'Your mum' can do to a grown man. Stems from those primary school days, when said statement was delivered with painful authority and the confusion you felt when you tried to figure out what your mum had actually done. Oh the cunning psychology. Lol
  9. Well personally I think this town lacks a live music venue in the style of say a Walkabout, where aspiring unsigned bands can play alongside more familiar names.
  10. any of the women in the area. lol. sorry
  11. I used to see Tom cruise around alot back when he was shooting Eyes Wide Shut and living in Dulwich Village with Nicole Kidman and kids. I think they were there for about 2 years, living in a mansion up the road from the Crown and Greyhound (the dog). I saw the Cheeky girls and their mum taking a stroll in Dulwich Village once. Heh heh! does this count for anything?
  12. Howard shore even considers his work on the Trilogy as an opera in structure, telling a story through the music as equally well as the visuals.
  13. Start your speech with the word 'Fornication' to grab peoples attention. Like saying quiet please. Naturally everyone will be all ears then. Then say "I'm sorry, a bit nervous.... I actually mean't to say For this occasion.... " Guarateed a laugh.
  14. spadetownboy I had to film Van Morrison about 2 years ago. And all I can say is what an arse of a performer. He came on stage with a digital clock counting down 90mins, didn't acknowledge the crowd once and just sang his set and left. No charisma what so ever. Good voice though.
  15. Right my turn, I'm a huge fan of film composers work as you can tell from my list of composers. Massive movie buff too to say the least as it's my passion. Did you you know, Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber is in fact first used in the David Lynch's The Elephant Man, when he passes away at the end. Another stunning use of the music. BigNumber5, I agree with you about Hans Zimmer, He's done some fantastic scores, Gladiator, Crimson Tide, The Thin red line, even The Fan (Not a great film), but honestly of late seems to be repeating his melodies. The Thin red Line's theme is reproduced but sped up in Pearl harbours Score. How's that for geeky. Lord of the Rings score is more of an opera in structure. How can you call Gladiator a bad film Keef? Are you mad? Last of the Mohicans soundtrack was by Trevor Jones and is rather cool. The film was on tv the other night. isn't daniel Day Lewis the most versitle and solid actor working today (never the same). I really like Clint mansell's stuff at the moment, using the Kronos Quartet. Have you heard the score for Requiem for a Dream (remixed by Mansell himself and used mostly for film trailers at the moment - They used it to promote The Two Towers) or even The Fountain. Stunning. My, what a geek out.
  16. I have no idea what happened there

    The Vale

Sadly it was probably better when it was the Hamlet. Christ what am I saying... That was a violent dump! Now obviously it's still violent, but not many people go there. Still a dump too I guess.
  18. I think Radiohead have made certainly some influential albums, The Bends and OK Computer spring to mind, but you could also say that about, say, Coldplay for example. Everyone sounds like them now. How about Sting? Or even Chas & Dave?
  19. I agree with you Gerrard, I'm actually a big fan of Albarn as an artist too. He's certainly grown. I had to film his GBQ (The good, The Bad, The Queen) gig in the Tower of London last year and I thought it was fantastic. He's also composed a chinese opera recently, Monkey and even scored a movie (Ravenous) with Michael Nyman. Doing well that lad.

    The Vale

I agree too. I think we should do something like that, and get locals to sign it and stick it to him.
  21. I'm currently listening to Clint mansell and the Kronos Quartet, soundtrack to The Fountain. Highly recommend, not really head bopping music though, that one. You can't beat a bit of Williams, so go there KalamityKel blast it. Try the theme to Jurassic Park, it's like a lullaby and gets stuck in your head.
