  1. If anyone has got a New Year's Resolution to learn to drive, I can recommend Nicholas Driving Academy. I had lessons with Nick in between lockdowns and passed my test about a year ago - I'm an oldster, and maybe a bit lacking in confidence because of that, but I passed first time with only two minors. Nick knows how to put you at ease, he's relaxed and really focuses on the practical stuff of actually driving a car, rather than learning a lot of theory. His details are: Nicholas driving academy, www.nicholasdrivingacademy.co.uk.Tel. 07956 221 706.
  2. Hi, I can recommend Nicholas Driving Academy. I started lessons at the ripe old age of 48, in between lockdowns, and passed my test first time last December. Nick is very relaxed, he's been a driving instructor for years and it really shows. He was quite confident in letting me drive in my own car from quite early on, which made me more confident. He knows how to chat to put you at your ease. Definitely recommend. His details are: Nicholas Driving Academy, 07956 221 706.
  3. My lessons were interrupted by the pandemic, but so pleased that I persevered with Nick's support. I passed just before Christmas at Bromley, only 2 minors! Very happy with the result. I can definitely recommend Nick to those looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and calm instructor. Very well suited, I think, to older and maybe nervous learners. He doesn't get cross if you make a mistake, which I've certainly come across previously when having lessons. He was very encouraging about taking lessons in my car, as well. Now that I've passed, I've had a couple of further lessons to boost my confidence on dual carriage/motorways. I am nearly 50, passed first time...Thanks, Nick!
  4. Just passed my test today at the age of 49 - first time - and over the moon. I had lessons in my early twenties but on moving to London, didn't need to drive and so gave up. Then, with the pandemic, it seemed like a good idea to take it up again. Of course, my lessons were interrupted by the lockdowns but we persevered. I can wholeheartedly recommend my driving instructor, Nick. We started off in his car with dual controls but very quickly - because I'd had lessons years ago - we were able to have lessons in my own car. Nick is patient, and works really hard to put you at your ease. He stays calm, whatever happens, and is very re-assuring. I always felt safe when out lessons, even without the dual control. 5. Hi Lucas, I can recommend Nick Pauli, of Nicholas Driving Academy. I've been having lessons with him, unfortunately interrupted by the various lockdowns, for several months. I had lessons many years ago but never got near to being able to pass a test. I started again last year with Nick and very quickly we moved on from using his car with the dual controls to using our car - this means my confidence has really grown. He is very calm, knows how to keep the lessons relaxed but focused, and knows how to work with older (I'm well over 40), maybe anxious drivers. I'm hoping to take my test at the end of the year. I found him through this forum. Nick's number is 07956 221 706
  6. Quick print bottom of oglander road, think their address is actually Maxted Rd. I found them to be quick, helpful and their work is good quality. They have a website with their contact details.
  7. I have a couple of dresses from Jigsaw which need taking in a bit: basically the skirt fits okay but I'd like the top to be more fitted. I think it might involve putting in or altering a dart and maybe the side seams. Don't think dry cleaners would do it. Can anyone recommend a seamstress or tailor who could do this for reasonable cost - happy to pay but not over the odds. Emma
