  1. looks like they are opening 14th Nov
  2. I've eaten a few times at the Plough and it's been pretty decent.
  3. Yep, double yellow lines is the word from Southwark council I'm afraid Renata
  4. Yep, also told that I require double yellow lines for a dropped kerb. Apparently, people still park if they see a single white line. It's added ?500 to the overall cost as the process has to be advertised in the local press to give people a chance to appeal the move. That ?500 is then non-refundable! Complete joke.
  5. It's good for the basic tapas dishes, padron peppers etc and the happy hour is good value.
  6. Had a nice lunch at the French House. Good food and drink ( Monaco) at a reasonable price, and lovely staff in there.
  7. Just had my bathroom re-grouted. Another excellent job by Daniel and his team. Recommended.
  8. Another recommendation for Daniel. He did an excellent job re-plastering and painting my bay window. Efficient, good value and punctual.
  9. Daniel did an excellent job fixing my fence. Quick and efficient. Recommended and I'm planning a number of other jobs already for Daniel.
  10. Anyone know the price of a dropped kerb?
  11. Hi Tom, I need someone to remove an old glass shower panel, fit a new glass bath panel and some new skirting. Would you be able to do this? Sanjay
  12. Hi, Can anyone recommend a good painter to paint a bay window and front door, and possibly upper windows, without having to put up scaffolding. Many thanks in advance
  13. There's still a few bottles of water left by Thames Water on Lordship lane between Barca tapas and the Plough if people need it?
  14. ThamesWater have been texting customers who gave their mobile details about the situation today. A standpipe has been erected outside 555 Lordship Lane.
  15. Went on Saturaday. Overall, fairly average. Courgette flowers for starters were nice but you only get 2 of them so for ?7.50 it's a little steep. Shared the courgette pasta and Stella pizza (which is actually some sort of calzone). Again, small portion for of the pasta which needed a bit more of a sauce. The pizza was probably the pick of the bunch but didnt seem to have all of the toppings listed on the menu. Service was slow and a bit chaotic. Il Mirto has nothing to fear.
  16. Had a leaking pipe from my boiler which was poorly installed by AT plumbing and heating. Called Daniel at Dulwich Plumbing and Heating and he arrived a couple of hours later. Fixed the problem in no time and was clean and efficient. Would recommend.
  17. Yes, council plan to encourage more shoppers. Florist, cake shop and food and wine have been done so far.
  18. We live near the estate and haven't had any problems. Seems to be a lot of ex council flats on the estate now rather than just council housing.
  19. Yes, it's been pretty slow lately.
  20. Looks pretty bad from east dulwich station.
  21. Six or seven fire engines up at the grove tavern pub. Looks Like a big fire in the rear of the building.
  22. Seems to be very common in East Dulwich but insurance is available for underpinned properties and plenty of them seem to be selling in the area.
  23. We purchased a house in the area last year which was underpinned. Eventually managed to get insurance through http://www.hardtoinsure.co.uk/. The annual fee isnt too bad, probably 250-300 more than normal house insurance and covers against any new subsidence, but not the old underpinning work.
  24. Would Moyes be able to deliver attacking football at Spurs though? He tends to set up his sides to stifle the opposition. That said, he doesnt have the same calibre of players to work with at Everton.
