  1. Thanks for posts. Will check out shop on ll. Do you mean green cuisine? I've done a name cake with letter tins like that. You do need to line and does still ooze but not too much. Also a dense cake like carrot works better than a light sponge. Fingers crossed for us both clare. Sally thanks for offer but I'm going to try the 1 and have a back up ready just in case !
  2. Hi Does anyone have a 1 shaped cake tin that I could borrow or hire for a day or two this coming week to make my daughter a 1st bday cake. I have looked into buying one and they cost about ?25 quid and will only probably be used once or twice so wondered if any kind soul out there might have one I could borrow. Happy to donate a bottle of wine in exchange. Thanks
  3. Hi. I bought a handpainted little chair for my daughter a few years ago but unfortunately the shop I bought it from has closed. Does anyone know where I can get something similiar? Its a little wooden armchair with woven seat pad and has her name and date of birth on it plus little pics of flowers / hearts etc. I need one for my other daughter. Thanks
  4. Thanks all. Tried NUK bottle today and that went down better. Also tried different formula so who knows. Thanks again
  5. Thanks all. Weve left it about a month since trying and just talked about the potty occasionally, "would u like to sit on the pot while mummy has a shower / changes baby sister etc". Really want to try again next week as my husband is on hols but dont want it to become a big issue. Guess we'll try and if she hates it, postpone again for a few weeks.
  6. Hi. We have an almost 5 month old and for the past 2 weeks she has been refusing her bottle or only taking very small amounts after lots of screaming. She has never liked taking it and it's always been a bit difficult usually involving boob then bottle. I would happily continue to breastfeed exclusively but she us a big baby and I don't have enuf milk for her and she is waking 3-5 times in the night. Some of it teething related I am sure but I can hear her tummy rumbling. I should prob mention she has had silent reflux so not sure if that's affecting her. Obviously the more she wakes the more tired I am and the less milk I have. I've tried about 10 different bottles and beakers but no success. Any tips? Thanks
  7. Hi. We are hoping to start potty training our daughter next week. We tried to start a few weeks ago but gave up after 2 days as she just got v upset at us telling her to sit on the loo or potty and just wet herself and then wasn't bothered about being wet or dirty (which is v strange as she is the most fastidious toddler). She had previously sat on the potty quite happily when I went to the loo but she was in her nappy when doing so. I've asked her why she doesn't like it and she just says she doesn't and cries. She is due to start nursery in a few months so needs to bs trained plus she is more than ready. She will be 3 in October. She hates me changing her nappy and kicks and screams. Anyone been in a similar position or have any advice? We've tried stickers. Reward charts, presents, outings and ice creams as incentives but nothing seems to work. Neither does seeing her friends go to the loo. Help?!!
  8. Hi. I went to that nursery when I was a toddler and absolutely lived it. We are hoping my toddler will get to go. Think it's fab but is about a 10 minute drive from Ed.
  9. Hi. I'd love to buy this off someone if anyone has one they no longer need. Thanks
  10. Hi, does anyone have any views on this, good or bad? If anyone has a CD I could borrow if they felt it worked then that would be fab too. Am due in 2 weeks so could return fairy soonish (hopefully) Thanks.
  11. Hi I am due in 4 weeks and my baby is back to back. I'd love any tips on how to turn it or if anyone has any experience of acupuncture or something similiar in turning the baby (good or bad), please let me know. Thanks
  12. Cycle to Greenwich, go through the foot tunnel and you're basically there. A leisurely cycle takes about 35 mins and the roads are pretty quiet.
  13. Hi Does anybody know how many hours/days the nursery at Herne Hill school runs? I am thinking of registering my daughter but I don't want her in nursery five mornings a week from age 3. I am hoping they have more of a gradual build up but if anyone could tell me what the minimum number of hours/days the school run for nursery (and going forward) that would be really helpful. I can't ask the school at the moment as they are closed for the hols and the answer might have an impact on the childcare I choose in the meantime. Thanks
  14. Hi Am planning to cycle to Peckham Rye station (I know, I know... I should cycle to work!) and just wondered if anyone had any good or bad experiences with leaving their bike there. Thanks in advance
  15. My family is registered at the gardens. I cannot praise the doctors highly enough, in fact one of them saved my little baby daughter's life by recognising I was not just a over anxious first time mum and taking my concerns seriously. She sent us to hospital and luckily my little girl got the life saving treatment she needed. The health visitors are very kind although we don't visit baby clinic much as there is usually at least an hour wait, if not more. It's a small practice so you get to know all the doctors and receptionists and they are all, without exception, lovely. I have to say as well, the nurse is fab. She's friendly and very quick at injections which again, when you have a little one, makes the trauma of giving them injections slightly more bearable.
