Clearly we need a Waitrose or M&S on Lordship Lane. Only allowing independent shops frustrates the free market. Not sure if anyone playing that violin ever went to socialist Russia but the experiment did not work out well there. Is it a serious argument that we shouldn't have a Waitrose / M&S because this would mean more cars? Perhaps we should allow only really rubbish shops and then there would be no traffic at all. Kick out all of the decent independent shops too then in that case.
