Tier 4 - bankrupting small local businesses
Bony Fido replied to Bony Fido's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If Johnson hasn't resigned by December 25th there's no justice. -
The timing of Tier 4's introduction could not have been worse for small retailers - they have stocked their shops to the max in preparation for what should have been their busiest 4 days of the year and are now forced to close, also leaving their staff in the lurch. As I recall there was a movement in SE22 to donate to help these businesses to survive, but this situation is the result of our (so-called) government's ineptitude and they should be footing the bill (albeit with our money)

Track and Trace at the Gym and in Restaurants
Bony Fido replied to NewWave's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Like me, most people don't like the idea of being tracked electronically but, also like me, they use smart phones - my iPhone tracks me where-ever I go, so the objection is pretty pointless. -
Southwark to auction off Belham Primary's Caretaker's House
Bony Fido replied to alex_b's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The blame for this type of Council action rests solely with this embuggerance of a tory so-called government which has systematically starved local governments of funds for many years now - certainly since 2010 - all part of the plan... -
Yes, why?

Locked because it's another traffic post. Please don't start new ones -Admin Yesterday (Friday the 18th) at about 5:40pm an Ambulance with blue lights flashing appeared at the Melbourne Grove/Grove Vale junction, but could not proceed because of the padlocked bollards - it had to do a 5 point turn and go back via East Dulwich Grove and Lordship Lane - it finally reappeared by ED station about 4 minutes later. This situation could potentially cost somebody's life.

It's ridiculous because the barriers take up less of the road than the parked cars did, so there's no good reason for buses not to stop there.

Is St Francis Park owned by Sainsbury's? The notices outside seem to indicate that it may be.

Some years ago the council advised putting it in garden waste bins, although since they started charging for garden waste bins it may have changed.

There's another (earlier) thread on this from "mary123" -

Bony Fido replied to localyocal's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
From Southwark Libraries website "Reopening of library services" Some Southwark Libraries will be re-opening with a limited service from mid-July. Further details and dates to be announced very soon. I think it's just about past mid-July now..... -
pollarding lime trees in Barry Road
Bony Fido replied to intexasatthe moment's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Better to see pollarding etc. than the growing numbers of beautiful trees being cut down as a response to subsidence - it seems that insurance companies insist on this as a "remedy". -

Let us all celebrate the birth of Ava Florence Whitfield
Bony Fido replied to Thunderblue600's topic in The Lounge
Beautiful - Ava Florence's birthday is the same as mine (in 1949) -
Shoplifters seem to prefer the Co-op - twice in recent days I've seen the Police attending the Co-op for this.

Sainsburys dedicated vulnerable customer line
Bony Fido replied to IlonaM's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Just got an email from Waitrose about 20 minutes ago containing the following :- "We believe from our records that you are aged 70 or above and may benefit from a new priority service we?re introducing. Available from today, the new priority service means we?ll be opening a number of delivery slots on waitrose.com, for you to book before we open them to a wider group of customers. The new slots are easy to book: simply visit waitrose.com, log in using this email address and place your order." I logged in to book a delivery - went right through to the week beginning 20th April - not one delivery available. -
Shops staying open in the lockdown when they shouldn't.
Bony Fido replied to Freddo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why should a bakery not be open? Bread is one of the most essential foodstuffs for many people. -
London Bridge to close for 7 months from 16th March
Bony Fido replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
Should be like that permanently. -
I think they used to be sent out in alphabetical order...
-
This problem will sort itself out because there will most likely be food shortages soon, therefore the eat less/crap less relationship will equal reducing need for bog rolls...
