  1. hi I was wondering if anyone could suggest a santas grotto around the peckham/ east dulwich/dulwich area? not anything expensive even church fair ones will do. to take my 2 year old. my older son doesn't care for it so I m not going to bother with him this year. I have gone to the Horniman in the past but I can't see one on their website this time any suggestion please? Thanks milly
  2. Thanks for replying. We found him on holidaylettings.co.uk He did not ask for a deposit which i found strange at the time but thought his confirmation email was good enough as it came through the same website. He has glowing reviews on tripadvisor too. The holidaylettings site states that we are only protected if we have paidthrough them so i guess we can't ask them to help.I have left reviews about our experience on there and tripadvisor though. I m in the process of booking alternative accommodation elsewhere (at an exorbitant price buy hey ho) you live and learn I guess.. have a lovely day everyone. .
  3. Hi i had booked a self catering cottage in South Wales for next week. Spoke to the owner a couple of times on the phone and when we confirmed dates, he sent through an email confirmation with the advice to contact him a week before we travel to confirm arrival time. This was back in February. Problem now is that all attempts to contact him have come to nothing.tried to email, text, phone, even sent him an enquiry on the website he listed the cottage under. It's been two days and I am at my wits end. We were so looking forward to going away...I have tried looking elsewhere but everything is either booked up or too expensive. any suggestions what we could do now? Thanks milly
  4. Thank you everyone for replying . JAJ I m glad to hear good things about the school. Rabbits!! I saw the hens on my visit there.the girls who showed me around were so happy and proud of the school,I got caught up in their enthusiasm! I m feeling a lot more positive now.. thanks milly
  5. Thank you for replying Anna. We received a letter inviting us to a parents evening and a another to meet his teacher etc in the next few weeks so I m waiting to see how he gets on with that. It would be lovely to meet the mum you mentioned (if she is willing).its nice to hear tht your kid is going well in school. I think i m more nervous than my son is! thanks milly
  6. Hi my son starts reception at St Francesca Cabrini this Sept. Is anyone else starting there this year? All his friends seem to be going to different schools and I m a bit worried he will feel left out. He is quite a friendly child but recently doesn't seem to be looking forward to 'big school' I was thinking i could arrange some play dates in the summer if anyone lives local to us. thanks milly
  7. Hi My friend has said she would take my 4 year old to a pantomime as her Christmas present to him this year. She has decided on jack nd the Beanstalk at Greenwich theatre. Has anyone seen the production? Is it sumthg a 4 year old would be interested in? I m worried he will get bored nd want to leave halfway thru if it doesn't interest him. Any seen it with their toddlers? Thanks Milly
  8. Hi I was thinking that for my birthday in Feb next year, our family could go away somewhere. Was looking for a short weekend break maybe 1 or 2 hour drive from London. We have a 4 year old and 1 year old. I know that it will be cold possibly rainy that time of year so maybe somewhere with indoor activities nearby ??? Any suggestions please? Thanks Milly..
  9. Grotty, you may have to check with the trainer if she will allow ur little one to be in the class, she really nice though....at one session, a ladies son was too upset to go into the creche and she let him sit in his buggy during the class. He looked very amused to see his mum jumping around the place! Spooner, yeah I couldn't believe it either...I went to the first session with reservations but loved it so much that I have been going since 4 weeks. I think its organised by the children center and they have a budget for different types of courses..,this aerobics course is a trial, if they get a good response, they will continue for the rest of the year. The room isn't very glamorous but you do get a good workout and the trainers great!
  10. For anyone with a child under 5, there's free aerobics classes in the peckham settlement on goldsmith road. Every Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30. There's a free creche on site too. I have been to a few classes and trainer Anna is really good. Great way to get in shape, u can't have any excuse not to cum!
