Plenty of space, booth seating, good toilets and decent tunes. Pizza menu is limited and its probably mlre a bar tbh but it wins for other reasons. That said its never that busy - another reason I like it.

  3. A quick search would reveal this is standard from Lou. I'm amazed everyone was reeled in again. Well done Lou.... Scoring you a firm 9 for varying off the old "low market brand crashes gentrified idyll / I was just checking the planning apps format". Would have been 10 if ed-Pete hadn't busted ya. Next time....
  4. Perhaps time for a fact check. Meat Liqour's classic burger, the Dead Hippie is ?9.50. Fries ?3 extra. Saucy's classic burger is also ?9.50 but they do other dishes, salads etc. It's not a fast food joint. Even The Plough (M&B chain), current holder of the most flavour-less burger on LL Award, is ?13 for a burger inc fries. Want the same Plough burger in a slightly better location? Then head to sister pub The Dog in DV where they will charge you ?14.50. On a budget? : McDonald's, Burger King, Finger Lickin Chicken.... In 2019, for this kind of independent restaurant and a prime location this is not out of kilter.

Tip: I have the same guy taking me in in the mornings for a flat fee. Lots of cabbies sold up and live in Beckenham, Orpington way and passing through in the morning anyway so happy to do a regular flat fee into town. It often works out similar-ish price to Uber and faster in rush hour as they beenfit from using the bus lanes. I do sympathise with their plight esp way TFL have mishandled Uber's arrival, like many other global cities. But change is inevitable and they don't do themselves any favours. Still too many racist, golf jumper types bemoaning not being able to fiddle the tax on cash with the new card machines but hey ho. The new electric black cabs are great and the app is decent enough too.
  6. I predict multiple makeovers ahead for this site as the EI bean counters wonder why it is under performing. With this move they have destroyed one of the best and most successful businesses in the area.
  7. I am scared to go into Wetherspoons because I don't like the yellow vests or pitbull dogs. Sometimes I have to brush the scaffolder's ching crumbs off the toilet seat and the flashing lights from the fruit machines hurt my head.
  8. I liked the French House. Superh onion soup. But that space is hard to make work. The last time it was a cocktail bar it attracted a weird crowd. Not many ED locals and a bit "cokey". Things have changed a lot since then and so good luck to the new venture.
  9. ^^ Interesting thread developing in the Heads up....intresting thread in the main section thread.

Pizza is some high end dish for the metrololitan elite. Lolz.
  11. I'm assuming self storage in London is prohibitively expensive and outside is cheaper. But I don't want to drive for hours. Can anyone recommend a good compromise and give any recommendations plus rough costs? Will need it for 1-2 years. Thanks
