  8. Hi there, I am looking for a local ukulele teacher to come to my house to teach two children aged 5 and a half and 8 the ukulele (at the same time). I would be looking for someone either at 4:30 or 5pm on a Monday or Friday or on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Thanks!

  10. Hi there Can anyone recommend a good maths tutor for a struggling/low-on-confidence 8 year old boy, summer birthday just turned 8 (just started year 4 - private system). We are not looking to drill him, we are looking for someone fun and kind who gets young children who struggle with maths concepts and can help boost his confidence. Looking for someone to come to our home in West Dulwich/Gipsy Hill area twice a week after school (ideally Monday - Thursday, 4:30/5pm ish) No need to suggestions around maths games online and so on....he won't do them, totally refuses to do anything like that with us. Kumon is definitely not for us, either, and school have discouraged us from Kumon. Thanks!
  11. Hi there Has anyone used a builder or insulation company to increase the loft insulation they have in their house? I am looking for someone to do this for me soon. Thank you
  12. Hi there We are buying a new house in August and I am looking for a top notch painting and decorating recommendation to come in and strip wallpaper and paint the top floor of the house over a 2 week period BEFORE we move in. It is 3 bedrooms, a box room, a laundry room and a bathroom. Can anyone recommend a really good, reliable team? Thank you!
  13. Hi there I am looking for an engineer (electrician and plumber, I guess) to carry out a pre-house-purchase electrical and central heating system survey. Can anyone recommend anyone local? Thanks!

  15. I disagree. I feel like it is arrogant to assume you can reserve a spot. I have moved house multiple times in London and each time reserved a parking suspension in the normal way. For a skip I don?t think anyone is entitled to a skip outside their house! First come first served. If there were a polite note on the bins explaining the need, maybe... but otherwise sorrynotsorry !
  16. Just move the bins. I see this all the time, often in Dulwich Village. I just move the bins back onto the pavement and park. I am just as entitled to park there as anyone else!
  17. I have a bin bag full of them...in good condition. Does anyone know of anywhere I can recycle or donate? Thanks!
  18. Can anyone recommend a local accountant that gives UK tax advice but can also provide French tax return filing services? I do my UK returns myself but due to French rental income I want to find someone who can help me with that part. Thank you
  19. It is obviously possible to do it yourself, but I have been using a nannypaye company for over 3 years now because for the sale of ?160 a year it takes a massive PITA off your hands. They do everything, including SSP or SMP if your nanny is sick long term or goes on mat leave. Dont forget you need to do the employers' NIC too. Our nanny had a second job so we had to split tax codes, etc etc and nannypaye dealt with all of it. They also helped me deal with a redundancy situation/payment correctly and calculated all the payments due etc. Honestly I would never do it myself...not for the cheap annual fees they charge. They are so helpful, too. I use nannypaye.co.uk
  20. We have a garden room (8x10) that is a small home gym. I want to put a mirror on one wall (around 8' x 6') and I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere in Dulwich area that could supply and fit this for me? Thank you!
  21. We have a new bike storage shed on the way and we won't have time to assemble it ourselves. This is the shed: http://www.trimetals.co.uk/product/sesame-garden-storage/ We are looking for someone trust worthy and reliable to come over and assemble it for us. We live in West Dulwich. Thank you!
  22. Need a carpet fitter urgently to fit a small new bedroom carpet tomorrow (Friday) or over te weekend! Any carpet fitters out there who can help me? Thank you! 07523 270288
  23. We are considering a small garden room to use as a small gym area for indoor cycling during the freezing months and when we are home alone parenting (one of us travels a lot). It would not need to be huge - basically a very good quality summer house with doors/windows/good locks/lighting and power. Has anyone added anything like this to their garden? I am wondering if I need to go with a special garden room company or if a builder/garden designer and landscaper could do it? Any recommendations would be most welcome. The garden room companies seem very expensive - like around ?10k. Thank you!
  24. Hi there Can anyone (or can you recommend someone who can) fit a replacement Insinkerator waste disposal unit? Our very ancient one (no longer in production) has well and truly died. I am happy to purchase unit myself - I just need someone familiar with these things to fit it! Thanks
