Plumber / boiler service recommendation - John Powers

Hi can anyone recommend an independent kitchen designer? Thanks
-
Hi there, my opinion is that I think it depends what you are having done. If it is something with a large initial out lay for the tradesman I.e. Boiler installation then i think it is fair. If not then no, payments should be made at defined points along the project agreed between the two of you.

Hi We need to order our bifold doors ASAP but it all seems a bit of a minefield. We have been over to bifold express in Redhill and were really impressed but we have had cheaper quotes. Online they have mixed reviews, does anyone have any direct experience of using them, their after sales services etc? Another contender is the folding door shop, no showroom for this one so am a little scared at handing over ?1000's for a product we haven't seen. We know we are getting schuco doors but we have heard scare stories that some firms (not directly the folding door shop)may not use all schuco parts so they can get the cost down. Help!!! any info that might make our choice a bit easier would really help. Companies to avoid as well as recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks xx

Boiler replacement - recommendation needed
Whatsupchuck replied to iaietta's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I have found when looking for tradesmen that searching the forum For example for boiler/heating engineers will enable you to find recommendations (or warnings!!) quite quickly from a large number of forum users. Good luck!! :0) -
Hermes are very reasonable and I've found them to be reliable Myhermes.co.uk

Hi We are looking to do a rear extension on our property and need recommendations for good (not necessarily local) architects and structural engineers (would prefer someone who could do or coordinate both aspects). Thanks

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of thinning hair in children. About 6mths ago my son developed an area on the back of his head where the hair looked thinner (not totally bald). I took him to the doctors (and since) but they have just fobbed me off because there is no sign of infection. I have since noticed areas on the side of his head which seem quite patchy too. In all other respects he is very healthy, energetic and eats well. Any advice would be really appreciated Thank you x

Bugaboo bee+ - adjusting the backrest
Whatsupchuck replied to HollieES's topic in The Family Room Discussion
But does anyone else's backrest gradually slip down so at the beginning of the journey they look quite comfy but by the end they are a squashed mess again (especially when the hood is up!) -
Islabikes - worth the hefty price tag?
Whatsupchuck replied to mothercourage's topic in The Family Room Discussion
YES!! I really um'd and ah'd over this before just going for it and buying a cnoc 14 for my 4yr old. It is true what they say kids really do fly with these. I didn't quite believe them and ordered the stabilisers to go with the bike and they are still sitting in the box unused. I would say within 2 or 3 15 minute sessions my son was riding. He was totally new to two wheels because we didn't bother with a balance bike but apparantly if they have a balance bike first it is even quicker. Can't rate them highly enough and have good resale value Hope this helps xx -
I took my 4yr old to the aquarium next to the London eye yesterday and he loved it, they have revamped it recently and it really was good! Have to agree with oimissus that the Diana memorial is fab too. Have fun!
