  1. Yes but such a shame such a fine building might be knocked down. You would think the council might do something about it. Apparently a lot of local residents are up in arms over the proposal.
  2. Noquestion, Prendergast a much better school.
  3. Depending on the number of flats, he would need planning permission for that.
  4. The old Woolwich is soon to be another estate agent --- kfh apparently.
  5. The Gardens surgery is fantastic. All the doctors are excellent. The baby clinic is great, and when I last had a health visitor they were great too. Only problem is there may be a waiting list to get in.
  6. I'll miss Threshers (the three for two deals were worth having for some bottles) and I'll especially miss the people who run it. They were friendly, helpful and nice to have around Lordship lane. Some of the snotty comments on this site remind me of what's wrong with living here and it seems what is increasingly wrong with this forum. Decent people, such as those in Threshers who find themselves moving on, can at least celebrate the fact they are being relieved of the company of such bores.
  7. Think you might be right. G and F woman joining up with woman who runs Le Chandelier. Apparently they want to make it girly! Would rather have the Mag circa 1970 back.
  8. Why don't you try getting in touch with Simply Childcare - they're a magazine based in Camberwell that put people in touch with each other - like nannies in the area, other parents who want a nanny-share, child-minders etc etc. I found my child-minder/nanny through them 6 and a half years ago and she is still with us. They're very helpful and offer an advice service as well. Just google them.
  9. Food is amazing and owner charming but I can't stand the guy who serves during the day and I'm not the only one. He obviously hates children - fair enough - I find mine pretty trying at times but he makes what should be an enjoyable experience quite hard.
