As a supporter of good, local businesses I welcome the Evans store. I went in to Balfes to get my gears indexed, had to wait 4 days, they charged me over ?60, didn't address the fact that the cable hadn't been installed properly and the gears went back out of line. Turns out it's incredibly easy to do yourself. Took me a quick Google and 2mins time to sort myself. Fuming at being ripped off by them. Evans staff have been nothing but friendly, helpful, reasonably priced and quick.

Cheers for your help Dave. It was much appreciated. I think it's very unfair you've now been penalised for what I can only see as jealously on behalf of other tradesmen.

I'm looking for someone to with a big car or van to help pickup a table from Crawthew Grove and drop it off in Melbourne Grove on Wednesday night (pickup at 8PM ideally) Dimensions: H = 79cm W = 89cm L = 168cm but legs are detachable. Can't imagine it'll take more than 15 minutes. Happy to pay ?15.

Is anyone with a car able to pick up a couple of items for me tomorrow (Sunday). I have a small tv table and a coffee table from Chertsey and Streatham to be delivered to East Dulwich. Items are worth ?40 together but happy to pay up to ?50 for you to deliver. Thanks you! Jon

Pfft!! If anyone thinks any of the pubs in Dulwich (inc The GE) have got the balance with kids right they are quite clearly delusional. The last thing I want to see when I'm tucking into twelve quid burger is your screaming little brat banging on the back of my seat. When I was that age, it was socially unacceptable to go into pubs (unless you had fake ID). Show some proper parenting and take them to the park.

In the grand scheme of things the strain on the environment to produce the extra yield is relatively low compared to other human activities on the planet. I'd also like to point out that buying organic does not necessarily mean higher welfare. For example, Farmers will tend to avoid treating ill or lame animals on an organic farm where as a non organic farm can use antibiotics to treat sick animals.
