Recommending Grant who has just finished a beautiful job laying Amtico tiles in our bathroom. Extremely helpful in the early stages of the job, explaining exactly what was required and guiding on how much LVT I needed to buy. The job was completed quickly and efficiently with no mess or fuss at all and excellent communication throughout. The pricing was competitive and fixed. If you’re happy to stray away from Amtico’s official distribution channels, the fixed RRP pricing and shop overheads, I would highly recommend giving Grant a shout. The product is the same and the fitting is exceptional. Grant: 07866 429951

We have used Martin twice. Firstly to hang wallpaper and secondly to repaint all our sash windows inside and out. His work is first class, to time and cost and he left each day leaving the house clean and tidy. He was invisible but always extremely polite to the family when at home. I cannot recommend Martin highly enough.

We are wanting to strip our varnished Victorian floorboards and fill and lime them. If you have done something similar and have any recommendations on tradespeople or products I would appreciate any tips. Thanks

Plusrooms completed a side and back kitchen extension for us and we were extremely happy with the project planning, coordination and execution of the build. In particular, we found them to be extremely careful, even pedantic, about the boundary lines and 3 meter projection that we built. If there are instances where the line of the build looks opportunistic, this is likely to be at the demand of the client. I see little motivation for Plusrooms to build beyond what is permitted, with the potential admin and reputational damage that may follow. Living through your own / a neighbours build can be very emotive and this neighbour sounds like an absolute nightmare, but I'd personally be careful what I blogged online as dealing with a libel counter is probably not going to help matters.

Parties at DHFC - noise
Dulwichwanderer replied to MellowYellow's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We are also 'victims' of these events. Agree, no issue with the general level of football stadium noise, or use for parties and their timings which are not overly late. My only issue is the bass, which is phenomenal and grotesquely inappropriate for a built up area. I am 1/4 a mile away and my glasses also shake in the cupboard, no exaggeration. Are any other people impacted? I'll log and contact the club and escalate to a counsellor if necessary. -
Best takeaway chips in ED/Peckham?
Dulwichwanderer replied to DiD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If looking for fries (rather than chips) to eat with mussels, I would go with MeatLocker washed down with something from HB&B. -
We used Akin from Bells on lordship lane and had an excellent experience. Recommend you go local for a more personal service that is tailored exactly to your space and taste. If there are any complications / issues / challenges (and it's unlikely there won't be any!) you want somebody easily contactable and accountable. Best of luck!

We had Ovidius back again to complete a number of carpentry tasks for us. Nothing hugely complex to be fair, but he performed a good job, at a fair price and left the place clean and tidy. He had a bit of van trouble meaning he had to return to complete agreed work, which wasn't inconsequential with holiday period traffic, but he did so without making a fuss. Certainly worth meeting him for a quote.

Can anyone recommend a good local Dentist pleeeease
Dulwichwanderer replied to cjonaldo's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I have recently joined Townley dental and find it to be excellent. Most friendly checkup and thorough hygienist visit I have ever had. -
I struggled enormously to find a reliable and available carpenter to build some steps for us. This chap came quickly to quote and executed the work as described and to budget. We are very happy. Nice guy to have working in the house as well. We shall be using again. Ovidiu Balaj from O.M.B Carpentry ? Home Improvements. 07447011574 [email protected]

I concur entirely with positive messages above on Patryk's work. He has completed a patio with drainage and walls for us last week. You are welcome to come around and have a look at his work. We were very painful in selecting which stones to use and he was v patient with helping us make a good choice. Ultimately, he is reliable, delivered what he promised and did so at a competitive price. Most tradesman I employ could learn a thing or two from him :-) tel 07455 376359

East Dulwich Road - man searches through wheelie bins
Dulwichwanderer replied to Cat111's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A man on our road (near ED Station) on a couple of occasions doing the same. Wearing a yellow council jacket. I think he was just looking for scrap metal etc he can sell, but with a number of break ins on our road, I did challenge him and get his picture. -
We need a handyman who has a long lander who can add two soil vent pipe clips to our vertical roof dormer on the pack addition of the house. I have bought the clips and have a tile drill piece, so no materials needed. Your ladder will need to extend c.6m+ It should take about half an hour and is relatively urgent as we have building works happening below. Any reasonable quotes from reliable handyman gratefully received.
