  1. Interesting article on Guardian website on dark dealings by local estate agents.
  2. Two rats seen while picking up child from the nursery. Disgusting mess throughout the area surrounding Sainsburys car park. Not cleaned for years. What action can I take? I've already contacted the store twice since last spring.
  3. What an excellent bookshop this is. No coffee, no stunts, just piles of beautiful books.
  4. Sally, just ignore some of the baffling comments on here. I mean to say, if some weirdos get irritated by posts about the foul state of our streets... Haven't they got anything better to do??! Bizarre commemts about it being our "responsibility" to avoid the shit (tricky for nightwalkers and the inebriated)! Nutters.
  5. Sally, you make a good point and I have thought that is probably the case. Same issue with litter, spitting, pissing in the street etc. Might have to move to Singapore to escape these filthy, selfish morons.
  6. This has become so serious that I feel it's necessary to warn these ignorant, scummy dog owners that if I catch you not cleaning up after your dog, there will be trouble. Today our streets are covered in dog merde. Why do we all just accept this?
  7. Wrong in your eyes maybe. Depends how pompous and over-sensitive you are.
  8. There's something quite Special Needs about all these whingeing parents around these parts . Fuck, it's as if they were afraid to spend time alone with their own kids! Jesus, go to the park, play, go home. My mum and dad didn't feel the need to drag me into caffs and boozers. Made it all the more exciting when I started going of my own volition. Get off your mobiles and go home to your bloody Lego!
  9. I've heard good things about the Jacksons too. Any chance of them coming to play in this drab corner of SE London?
  10. To the porky, balding 40-50 year old with three dogs (one on lead) - the last two mornings I've taken photos of your dogs shitting right in front of you in areas where children play and people like to picnic. On neither occasion did you bother to pick the mess up and dispose of it in one of the many suitable bins so I'm going to report you. Dirty, ignorant people like you make life that bit worse for everyone else.
  11. Very poor pub this - the young barmaid seemed flummoxed, even a bit pesht off when I asked her what ales they had on tap! Snotty and up its own backside. Like some kind of Claphamite enclave.
  12. I had my kitchen door open all evening and as I went to shut it, about 10.20pm, I saw a large rat run out! As far as I know the only way for them to get in is the garden door, I am just concerned that there might be a nest in the garden. Have people had experiences of rats getting in their homes? I won't consider poison just yet as we have a dog (she went straight to the spot in the garden the rat scampered to but unfortunately didn't find it!), however this is the first time in the 5 years of living on Keston Road that I have seen a rat in my flat! I think I would rather boil then experience that again!
  13. I know what you mean. All down my street there are all these filthy, noisy, killer cars expelling lethal toxins, disturbing people's sleep and sometimes crippling, maiming and killing young and old alike. Can the council trim these here cars back?
  14. Another lovely morning, another day in the garden spoilt by this bloody racket - up to 10 hours a day, even on Sundays and bank holidays. What can be done about it? Who are these selfish people?
  15. It should be called "Peckham West" - getting away from the tacky, monosyllabic 90s genre of "Boho" etc. Also associating Lordship Lane more with the happening and vibrant neighbourhood which lies to the east (Peckham itself) rather than the Dull Wych. Give two fingers to the Claphamite wanabees who'd rather pretend that they were in some bygone Albion ghetto!
