Yep, Kwik Fits in Grove Vale replaced two tyres on my car, no fuss, speedy service and very obliging. Now that's what you call a service.

Hats off to Chener Books once again! I have been desperately seeking a book entitled Brewers Rogues Villains and Eccentrics, by William Donaldson. I thought it would be a piece of cake buying it on Amazon, but no they could not supply it. I then rang around virtually all the Waterstones Bookshops in Central London, to be told they no longer stocked it. So I then thought I would give Chener Books a try and yes they have it in stock. So all you people out there, never ever judge a book by its cover - Chener Books for me has come up trumps! Well done John!

I would have to agree that Foyles and Books, etc. offer a far wider choice of books than one's local bookshop. However, for a really vast selection of books, I would also recommend Amazon.co.uk. Not only as I have said, do they offer such a fantastic selection, they also offer reduced prices. Going back to Chener Books, then, I feel that for a "local" bookshop, their supply is more than adequate, but it depends on what one is looking for. -

The essence of the Chener Bookshop is, that apart from the staff being very helpful and the shop being well stocked with a variety of books, in itself is a reminder of the Britain of a generation ago. In itself, it represents, sadly disappearing, a period when Britain was British through and through. -

if you don't like what you see, then don't look. What makes it a depressing place to shop??? Is it because its not as "fancy" as the other bookshops?? Its what makes it an honest place to browse for books. As they say, "Never judge a book by its cover".
