We are a family of five based in Herne Hill, looking for fabulous cleaner to come twice per week to keep our house beautifully clean, do the ironing and help us keep on top of all the laundry. Checkable references needed please.

I recommend Clive Bloomfield, he's done three decorating jobs for us. Good standard of work, friendly, reliable, won't skip off to other jobs and cleans up after his work.

Thanks everyone that's really helpful. Those of you who are happy with nurseries, would you mind telling me which nurseries your kids go to? Likewise with childminders, how are you getting hooked up with them? There are one or two ads on here not well located for me in Herne Hill, other than that, Lambeth and Southwark have great long lists of childminders but I haven't found a good way to find someone good, near me, with a space coming up. Starting to feel like I'm in a childminding vacuum! Thanks again

Both but absolutely get a balance bike, your child will be a much safer cyclist and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble when it comes to transitioning to a pedal bike with no stabilisers. They may not take to the balance bike straight away but try it again in a couple of months if they don't. Both of my sons transitioned from balance bike to pedal bike (without stabilisers) literally in minutes, about five, I'm not kidding! The youngest has been on a pedal bike since he was 2!! They sometimes need a push off but that's it. You can get cheap ones from toys r us or get second hand or beg for hand me downs. Good luck.
