  1. Hi,

Our son was offered a place at Dulwich Village Infants starting this September which we are really happy about.

We emailed the school to say we would need wrap around care but were told there?s a waiting list so he?d be unlikely to get a spot until possibly after Christmas. As two working parents wrap around care is essential, I just wondered if any parents have any recommendations for childminders that offer a drop off/pick up from the school?

    Appreciate any advice or recommendations.

    Thank you.

  2. I want to second the recommendation above, I just saw it as I was about to write a similar post so I thought I?d add my post to this one.

DRJ builders are just finishing off our project, which was a complete house renovation including a rear extension and loft conversion and what could have been a very stressful time was helped hugely by the capability of David and his amazing team.

The house hadn?t been touched for over 50 years so needed work to everything. We moved to a rental for 6 months and couldn?t believe the progress that was made each week. The level of detail that they go into is fantastic and always had ideas and solutions for the inevitable tricky unforeseen parts that came up. We had lots of site meetings and David and Kieran were always available to chat through things whenever we needed to.

I?m an interior designer so can be very picky when it comes to detailing and finishing but I have been really impressed by the workmanship, David?s team are all highly skilled, David himself is such a lovely guy who has lots of knowledge and experience, Kieran, is a great, approachable project manager, Tommy is the best tiler we?ve ever had and we challenged him with some very intricate tiling, Mick did an amazing job of our wallpapering, Kevin the carpenter and Ahmed made lots of bespoke panelling and cupboard spaces from my drawings that look great, not to mention all the other tradesmen that did such a great job.

We are so happy with the end result and would highly recommend them. We are going to really miss having them around as they are all so lovely and have been great with our little 3 year old boy who now wants to be a builder when he grows up :)

If you would like anymore information please pm me.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi,

We?re looking for someone to make a new metal garden gate either to match our existing gate that has totally rusted or show us standard options that they have that would work with what we previously had.

Has anyone used any lovely local companies for this that they would recommend?

The gate would be around 1mx1m. Any ideas on price? I haven?t got a clue.

    Thanks!

  4. Looking to have two mid century armchairs upholstered, bought from eBay and the inners have all been refurbished so it would be taking off the existing upholstery fabric and then we?d like to paint the wooden parts in farrow and ball railings, satin finish, then have the chairs re-upholstered in a fabric we will supply, if you can advise the quantity required per chair.

Are there any upholsterers out there that would like to quote for the job? Upholstery only or painting the wood parts and upholstering both chairs? We are collecting the chairs from the seller on Tuesday so would ideally like to drop them straight to the upholster on Tuesday afternoon but if this isn?t convenient we could drop on Friday or a date the works.

Please pm me if interested including a quote, timescale, any photos of previous work/website etc. I have attached some photos of the chairs.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi, we?re looking to buy two armchairs from eBay and would want them to be reupholstered, the foam etc has already been restored so it would be upholsterery only, but I have no idea how much this would cost so before I buy them I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how much it might cost per chair. I?ve attached the photos of the chairs and the fabric we want to use. The dims are 60cm width x 70cm depth x 78cm height. Any advice recommendations/ idea of price would be welcome thanks!
  6. Hi is it for a boy or girl? If a boy I would recommend gk barbers, i had the same experience at little clippers and looked on here for recommendations and went to gk barbers yesterday after the good reviews and was pleased I did. The guy there was very good with my little boy, who is also 2, he put CBeebies on as a distraction and I was really pleased with the cut. It cost ?8 which I also thought was a good price.
  7. Hi, my 18-month old managed to throw off his wool knitted bobble hat this morning without me noticing until I got to the Goose Green playground. I looked around the pavement by Flying Pig pub and along that row of shops where I'd walked from my friends flat but couldn't find it. Please PM me if you did pick it up? Thanks Emma
