  11. Hi, I am a town planner, I recently got planning permission for a roof terrace in East Dulwich and am working on another in Clapham. The main issues are overlooking neighbouring gardens and windows, and whether you will be overlooked yourself when on the terrace. If this won't happen then permission may well be granted. Happy to discuss further if you send me a PM.
  12. Some more feedback here: http://www.peopleperhour.com/freelancer/suzanne/freelance-town-planner/302924 In ED I have recently got planning permission for a 2 storey rear extension (refused first time before I got involved) and also have been advising lots of residents on their own projects and neighbour applications. Get in touch if you need a quote for any planning work or just to talk through a potential project!
  13. Some examples of projects I have obtained planning permission for recently: Roof terrace (East Dulwich) Rear extension in a conservation area (Forest Hill) Change of use from shop to a restaurant (Croydon) New shopfront (Brighton)

  15. Hi, I know you're looking for recommendations but thought I would offer my services. You can find out about me at www.asherplanning.com I'm no longer London based but still do lots of London projects and have done work in Lambeth before. Get in touch if you would like me to quote for your work. Best regards, Suzanne
  16. It depends on the reasons for refusal and what if any extra information the Council are asking for. It may be that if you make some minor changes / provide extra info you could put in a new application and get it approved - this is easier than appealing. If you do appeal again it depends on the complexity as to whether you can do it yourself or need help.
  17. Just a reminder that if you are looking to get planning permission for a project in 2015 and need advice or help, get in touch. In particular I deal with Lewisham, Lambeth, Bromley, Croydon and Southwark Councils.
  18. Hi Sylvia, I am a town planner, when my clients need drawings I refer them to Ike Obanye who is an architect based in Greenwich. His rates are reasonable and he gets rave reviews. Website is www.iketecture.com

  20. Hello, I just posted this in the business section, looking for someone to take over my local town planning cases whilst I'm on maternity leave. Thought I would mention it here as might suit a current SAHP looking for freelance work: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1156255 Sue
  21. Hello, I'm an independent town planning consultant looking for someone to take over my local cases for a few months whilst I'm on maternity leave. It would be around a day's work each week, starting ASAP. Ideally you would work through my business but be self-employed. The work tends to be applications for house extensions/conversions, and change of use for businesses, and is mostly in Southwark, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, Bromley. Here's more about me and my company: http://www.asherplanning.com Its a long shot I know, but please PM/email me if you or anyone you know might be interested! Thanks, Sue
  22. Yes 40 cubic metres is the limit for a terraced house. Other, probably obvious limits are: Extension mustn't be higher than existing roof If inc. a dormer this must be at the back of the house (though you can have rooflights at the front) Bottom of dormer must be 20cm from the original eaves No balcony etc No chimney, flue, or soil stack vent
  23. Hi - as a local town planning consultant I submit lots of applications to Lewisham and Southwark and in my experience they do tend to take the full 8 weeks. Lots of people do start work beforehand but you would need to be absolutely sure that your proposals fall within the Permitted Development limits and so are going to be acceptable.
