  1. Brilliant news! Well done to both of you :-)
  2. Have already sent a PM but just wanted to respond to the above. It is true that in some children there is a hormone that can be deficient that may cause bedtime wetting. This is rarely the case though and is more often due to simply a small bladder that needs to be stretched by extra drinking in day and holding their wee for a bit longer. Some medications can be used but rarely in children under 7 and even then won't work unless the child's bladder is big enough. These also usually won't be prescribed until bladder training has been tried. Great advice from everyone concerning no pressure and just waiting though! I see lots of children who are 10+ when they initially visit and are dry within months. x
  3. I am a paediatric nurse at GOSH and currently live in east dulwich. However my fiancee has just got his dream job in a hospital in somerset and so, subsequently, we will be relocating. After going through all the options we have decided that I should stay at GOSH for the time being but the commute would be far too long for me to do this daily. I would only need a room for 2 or a maximum of 3 nights per week. In return I could offer babysitting duties and a small contribution (and also very nice homemade cakes :-)). If anyone may be interested in having a very friendly lodger(and a few nights off from the kids), I would be really appreciative if you could let me know. I have nannied for two lovely east dulwich families previously, and and up to date with CRB checks etc from my current job. Thank you!
  4. I had a nasty cycling accident a couple of months ago- cracked rib and banged head, and a lovely girl insisted on staying with me and comforting me until my boyfriend came to the rescue. It's nice to know there are lots of lovely people out there :-)
  5. We saw this around 10ish by the actress pub thurs morning. Don't know if it will still be there but hope you find it!
  6. Thank you again for making us aware of this issue. I cannot believe some of the abusive comments that are written when someone is clearly just trying to help out the local population. Why can't people be positive and thankful and not critical and plain rude?! As a cyclist myself I finished a 14 hour shift to discover that despite buying a ?50 pund lock and locking both my wheels, someone had stolen my bike seat (using an allen key) so some things are unavoidable!
  7. We've always bought ours from Poppy Hana near Bermondsey which deliver to east dulwich. Always been quite impressed with most of what has been delivered and very quick and efficient.
  8. Hi workingmummy. I work on a neurology ward and we deal a lot with children with migraines and yes, it is possible for them to have them at that age, particularly if there is a strong family history of that. It isn't very common so it may be best to go and get it checked out although I'm sure your instincts are probably correct.
  9. Agree with all the above compliments. Great shop. Very knowledgable and honest staff. Will definitely go back.
  10. I agree with all you've said! I have recently started working in a central hospital and decided to bite the bullet and cycle and I love it! With long shifts, it takes away the guilt of not thrashing it out in the gym plus it wakes you up nicely in the morning. Good luck with this. Great idea.
  11. Hello everyone! I've recently moved to ED too and would love to meet some new friends in the area :-) Drink/ rounders sounds good to me although I'm doing lots of weekend shifts at the moment so a weekday would be great! Hannah
  12. I have just completed training as a paediatric nurse however it is all changing now that they have introduced it as a degree only programme. What this means is you won't receive a full bursary i.e. if your husband/partner has a reasonable salary you won't get anything. Hope this helps!
  13. I am moving to East Dulwich in a couple of weeks and am looking for work from now until the end of September. I have just qualified as a paediatric nurse but cannot work until my PIN comes through, hence looking for work over summer. I have previously worked as a Nanny so if anyone is looking for childcare, either part time or full time, over the summer please get in contact and I can send you more information about myself. Thank you!
