  1. 5th Camberwell Beaver Colony ? Taster Session We?d like to explore the idea of starting a Beaver Colony. Beavers are 6 - 8 years and take part in activities such as badges, camps and other events. Any Beaver would automatically progress to the Cub Pack and Scout Troop which there are waiting lists. We have arranged a meeting on the 20th May 2016, 5:15pm - 6:30pm. We would also ask you to let your friends and neighbours know about this event if you think they would be interested. We will be running children?s activities during the meeting so you can see what being a Beaver entails and if your children would enjoy it. Scouting is a volunteer organisation and we will be also be covering the need for leaders to help run the new Beaver Colony. We anticipate a fun evening for parents and children. Places are limited so we would encourage everyone to confirm attendance by emailing at [email protected] If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact at the above address.
  2. Considered Volunteering? The 5th Camberwell Scout Group are looking for new Leaders and Assistance Leaders to start a new Beaver Colony and growing Cub Pack. We are based at the St Faith's Community Centre on Red Post Hill, and meet every Friday evening. Our Group is mixed (ie for boys and girls), who are aged from 8-14. We run a balanced programme of activity consisting of games, personal development, adventure and community activity. Leaders plan and run the weekly meeting, as well as occasional activities at weekends. You do not need to have been involved in the Scout movement before, as all new leaders are given appropriate training and support when they join. All leaders are also DBS checked when they start. If a weekly commitment sounds too much, there are lots of ways you could help out, by supporting trips and camps, fund-raising events or by offering a professional skill. You might be an expert in computing, cooking, performing, climbing or collecting - and willing to share your talents with our group over an evening or two. If you would be interested in finding out more about the rewarding challenge that being a Scout Leader provides, please contact the Group by visiting our website at http://5thcamberwellscouts.scoutsites.org.uk/?page_id=245
