  1. Hi my baby girl is nearly 8 months old.she spent almost 7 months in kings after birth.just yesterday we received confirmation that she has Rubinstein tybai syndrome.any one on here have kids with special needs?are there any local support groups?i'm also looking for advice on childcare in case I return to work.thanks.
  2. Hi I've just been made aware of this group. Can I join please? I'm due my first baby on 28th September. Siobhan
  3. Dbboy, when did you "used" to walk up and down there regularly? Perhpaps it's worse now than it used to be. Do you walk the route regularly now? Do you have to walk up and down there with young children? I don't know if there have been any accidents but we don't have to wait for an accident to happen before something is done. It's about preventing an accident from happening and about feeling safe.
  4. I walked back up the hill yesterday evening only to find that they had only been fixing and re-constructing some of the damaged "speed bumps" which are completely ineffective. Nice to see tax payers money being completely wasted. Grrrr....
  5. I walked down to HOP station today and they are removing the speed bumps. I hope they put more effective measures in place !
  6. Hi I was just pointed to this thread - I had posted similiar concerns yesterday on se23.com. I live very near the Cabinri school also. I guess your concerns depend on whether you are a driver or a pedestrian. If you drive in the area, I suppose you don't see the issues of speed and the parked cars around the school would annoy/obstruct you, perhaps this is where dbboy is coming from, I don't know. For me, I walk all the time and speed is the main issue for me too. From the Cabrini school down to Wood vale but ALSO the other direction down to HOP. When you walk down to HOP park, you are very near the road from one tree hill down...and feel very unsafe at times with the speed of cars, lorries and buses - the speed bumps are absolutely ineffective. I sometimes find myself gesturing to drivers because I'm so annoyed at how fast they are driving. I think speed cameras are needed. I will email the contacts given expressing my concerns.
  7. the organisation my friend works for is The passage - http://www.passage.org.uk/about_us.aspx this is the message my friend replied to me: yes i heard about him - its v sad. been keeping an eye out at work, but no-one matching his description has come in at all, nor been seen on the streets. i will forward this link to our outreach team, just in case they come across him while doing their shifts late at night or early morning. hope he gets found soon!
  8. Hi It might be worth contacting Aisling - http://www.aisling.org.uk/drupal/?q=node/19 I think Aisling have strong connections with Arlington House (the biggest homeless hostel in Europe) and the London Irish Centre in Camden I also have a friend working near Victoria for an organisation helping the Irish homeless (can't think of what they are called - have contacted her) Siobhan (girl who came down for couple of hours on Saturday to hand out flyers)
  9. have police trawled through any CCTV footage that covers the area?
  10. the lady at the Southwark Irish pensioner project is aware that Patrick used to visit the club but has not been in some time. Some members do know Patrick so she is passing the information around to those who may know Patrick.
  11. Sorry to hear this and I hope Patrick is found safe and well. I do live on Forest Hill Road, very near Brenchley Gardens and had not heard of Patrick missing until a friend back in Mayo posted it on Facebook, I have not noticed any posters so could help distribute some in the area if I can get some? would also be interested in helping in the search on Saturday, I will also post on SE23.com as I do not see anything on there. I have also contacted a lady in Southwark irish pensioners project to see if she is aware of Patrick missing. She may have suggestions to help.
