Virgin Media Outage - Northcross Road
MissWiggy replied to Neil.P's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Our experience of Virgin media has been awful. Customer in SE22 since 2012. On 8/9/17 I called them and told them we were moving to SE5 and asked to transfer our service. I was told this wouldn't be a problem as they had checked the house and could see it had had a previous connection - no problem at all and connection appointment made for 25/9/17. On 24/9/17 we received a phone call telling us the appt on 25/9 could not go ahead as there were construction issues. It was rescheduled for 4/10/17. On 30/9/17 my husband telephoned VM to check that all was on track for tomorrow - told yes of course, pre-installation work has been done and all go for the appointment tomorrow. at 1830 this evening I get a call saying that there are construction issues and the installation cannot go ahead. The construction team will be in touch in 5 working days to let us know what the timescale for the work will be - could be up to 8 weeks before we are connected. Absolutely appalled. My advice is to avoid like the plague. -

We used to think it was great and went there loads - loved the food and most of all the great service from the 2 men that ran it. However I agree with ElPresidente above re the change in management - there was a marked change in service and food. The staff changed from being really helpful to disinterested and although we persevered in the hope things would pick up again, we stopped going. On a positive note Terroirs is great (the old managers had a link to Terroirs - not sure about the recent management) and the old manager is now running a new restaurant in Sydenham - one on the list to check out! Fingers crossed it returns in some shape or form but with better service.

HELP! Does anyone know how to contact the council re getting a permit? We have just moved into the zone (so have no proof of address and no council tax bill) and need to get a permit for our car. I have changed my address online for our council tax "account" but the website doesn't seem to acknowledge this and just says the account is closed. Of course there is no telephone number to ring and ask. At a loss and very grateful for any help!

Letting agents in general and recommendations

Interesting thread and good to see that so many people have been able to find tenants themselves. Out of interest how do you carry out landlord / employer / affordability checks? Thank you in advance. -
Zip cars leaving vehicles in our road
MissWiggy replied to PandG's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There's been one outside our house for 3 weeks and hasn't moved in that time. Apparently the tracker has drained the battery which means it doesn't show as being an available car, can't be hired and won't move. Seems a bit counterproductive. -
Lordship Lane accident (now open)
MissWiggy replied to EDmummy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There's been a large number of police cars going down LL too and they've moved the cordon. I've just overheard someone say there has also been a stabbing. I hope that's not the case. -
I would definitely recommend the fantastic Nicola who helps us do the same job each year. She really knows what she is doing, is reasonable and leaves the garden looking spotless each time. Her number is 07815 775 840

Yes it's very odd. No ot definitely hadn't been put there by another animal. It was one of those individual trays of food and save that the lid had been peeled off, the top was untouched. I'm sure it's all innocent but I would ask that people don't leave out food for other people's pets (someone has very kindly contacted me saying she knows someone who does this and she has also asked them to stop).

Ive just gone outside to put the rubbish out and seen an open tray of cat food left on our pathway. Perhaps I'm being over cautious but give the recent spate of cat incidents in the area I thought this was odd and has definitely put me on my guard. We do have 2 cats and so I feel that whoever has done this seems to be making a point that they know that we have cats. I'm just baffled as to why they would have left food out. This has happened in the last 45 minutes or so as when I went out earlier this evening it wasn't there. Hopefully there is nothing to worry about but just thought I would make others aware.
