  1. Steve looks after the garden at our rental property on a regular basis after we moved to Dorset. He's completely trustworthy, reliable and very hard working - doesn't shy away from working in awful weather too! So glad we found him!!
  2. Thanks for the info - will check them out...
  3. Hi We're renting our house out from middle of May and I'm looking for a reliable gardener who can go once every 4 -6 weeks, depending on the season, and check that our garden isn't get out of control (prune hedge/shrubs, cut back any ivy - the tenant will mow the lawn). We're using managing agents so they'll arrange access to the garden. Does anyone have any recommendation please? Many thanks Sue
  4. Here's yet another vote for Hamish and his team. He managed to make our out of control eucylyptus tree become much more manageable and gave us good advice about future care. They left the garden really tidy and were polite and curteous to neighbours. We will definitely be using them going forward. I found their services very good value too! Thanks Hamish!
  5. I can recommend Steve as well. He's very hard working and worked through some awful rain in my garden. He's also extremely 'dog friendly' which was great. I'll be asking him back on a regular basis when we let our house out.
  6. Yes, I agree that it would be ideal if possible to speak to the owner first (with diplomacy). However I'm sure that the immediate neighbours would have mentioned something to them though as this hasn't just started.... perhaps they're already working with a separation anxiety issue but not getting much success and possibly given up. All assumptions though...
  7. Yes, I've been thinking of trying to find the house, I've asked my neighbours close by but they don't know anything for certain so walking the streets it is. Then I have to think what to do when I find/think I've found the house/garden...... Thanks
  8. I've posted about this a good while back, but anyone living around Dunstans Road/Underhill Road or possiby some roads nearby must hear a dog howling - every day practically...? Really worrying about the poor animal as it's surely unhappy to be making the crying howls all the time. Don't know why I'm posting... perhaps just needed to share my concerns... Hope the beast isn't tied up outside or in a shed!
  9. Another suggestion for a good local architect is Tim Woolcott ([email protected]). He's a friendly chap who listens to his clients and makes sure that any design will really work for the individual.
  10. Does anyone know anything about a dog that howls so much - not sure where, but sounds ike it's on Dunstans road/Balchier/Ryedale... Poor thing obviously doens't like being shut out for hours on end (mostly the day time but tonight it's been going on since 6pm...) I know dogs barking is to be expected and one of those things but this pooch sounds so awful and goes on for so long!!!! It's not the noise as such - just that it seems so sad and a bit irresponsible of the owners? It definitely has not gone out for a walk this evening.... However, no reason to shout neglext though.... Probably not an answer to this threat - but just wanted to see who else out there cares or knows what can anyone do... possibly the dog is young and is on a steep learning curve - but perhaps a dog walker once in a while or a few separation anxiety tips might be helpful? Thanks for listening - will go and take a reality pill now (yes, I know, worse things are going on happen etc...)
