Antique Victorian Woolwork Needlepoint Tapestry £95 "Moses in the Bullrushes" A large, antique, Berlin type woolwork embroidery panel with a religious scene of Moses in the Bulrushes which shows the finding of Moses by the Pharaoh's daughter. It is also known by the titles: The Finding of Moses, or Moses Saved from the Waters. It was a popular art subject matter. The Egyptian princess and her attendants are seated and standing by a river around the baby Moses. Classical buildings appear in the distance with a sphinx garden statue on a pedestal by the princess to reference Egypt. Created circa 1850 Height 100 cms (39.5 inches) Width 87 cms (34 inches) Tapestry on wooden frame support. Vintage Fostex Model 280 Multitracker and Instruction Manual £160 The multitracker powers on, it fast forwards and rewinds but quite slowly so there is probably an issue with the drive belt. There is a slight hum sound when the tape is put in and I cannot get it to record so I am selling as parts /not working. The AUX 1 button top is missing but it can still be pushed in to work. Otherwise cosmetically in very good condition. 8-Input Mixer (4 mic/line and 4 line) combined with a high quality, high speed 4 track cassette recorder with built in Dolby C noise reduction. Suitable for overdubbing, punch-in/out recordings and ping pong recordings. Stamped verso Babcock Galleries, 805 Madison Avenue, N.Y In pen and pencil catalogue number: c-15418 A delicate pastel in blue, white and yellow resembling a seascape. Slight undulation to the paper and on the backing board. I think this work is probably from around the 1970s or 1980's . Julius was an American artist from New York and the husband of the author Joan Aiken (Wolves of Willoughby Chase, Arabella and Mortimer etc). They were friends of the family and this artwork was given as a gift to my mother. Julius worked and taught in New York, famously having Madonna sit for his classes life modelling!
