For the first time, I saw a large rat (thought it was pregnant) trotting through our tiny back garden. I live near Colwell Road, Playfield Crescent and Melbourne Grove. Has anyone else seen rats? This is certainly an unwelcome situation.

And another recommendation for Andy. He's an honest, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, friendly guy and a very good plumber. New kitchen taps, no leaks, extra free advice on other plumbing stuff. Andy is a one-man band - and he's our new man.

I'm a customer - have had a manicure 3 times. It is great value at ?10 - but I will say that you get what you pay for. Twice I had to remove the polish the next morning as it bubbled up. Not too much of a problem as the bare manicure was acceptable. And they were more than happy to fix at no charge (I wasn't able to make a return trip at short notice). Also not all of the previous polish was removed which showed through under the new polish. Attention to detail could be improved, but it is only a tenner. So, 999 is good value for day to day polish, but perhaps not a manicure I would trust for something extra special, like a wedding.

Kuki on Bellenden Road has been consistently very, very good to date. They are all experienced and talented colourists - you'll be hard pressed to find a better result. And, for the moment (as they've only been open for about 10 months) - they have very friendly prices.
