I also want to recommend Greg and his team. He's just finished painting the exterior wall of our Victorian mid terrace along with the porch and the door. He came promptly and gave us a very reasonable quote and then gave us a start date and started exactly when he said he would. He was helpful with advice regarding types of paint to use and we found him overall to be professional, courteous, honest and extremely hardworking. He organised the scaffolding for us also. As Greg worked on our wall he noticed a large area of damp and an old blown brick (which the previous owner had patched up with gaffa tape!) and he repaired all of this at a very reasonable price. He had excellent attention to detail and returned to do a further coat to ensure that the finish was at the highest standard. The finished work looks excellent. Just wanted to add another recommendation for Russell and his crew. We just needed our gutters cleared- plants spotted growing out of the front and a longstanding problem in the back where water didn't drain properly from a gutter on our dormer flat roof - which I also thought was a blocked gutter problem and just needed clearing. We'd had our dormer done a while previously and then had another roofer come in and fix the problem (or so we thought..!) Russell and his team were extremely efficient. He cleared out the front gutter and spotted a problem with the back gutter which was a bodge job from the previous roofer and came back later to fix it. All of the gutters are now clean and draining properly (ie. also fixed)! He was extremely efficient, clean and professional.... and while he was fixing the gutter he got a member of his team to clear ivy and honeysuckle roots off the front of our house plus do some weeding (I was surprised but extremely pleased :) ) Can't recommend him enough- honest reliable and a good bloke Russell 07852972052

I'd also like to put in a recommendation for Arthur's trees. I rang Arthur when the honeysuckle on the front of our house came off our front wall. The honeysuckle was huge (up to one storey high) and filled the front of our porch plus part of the adjoining pavement. We needed it removed urgently. Arthur and his colleague responded promptly to my phone call. He was able to quote a reasonable price quickly and came the next day to complete the job which came in as quoted. We had our loft done about two years ago and we're still very pleased with the results. We used a company called 'loftlife'. We have had a lot of building work done but of all the builders we used this company did the best quality work and were the most professional. It was an extremely stressful time for us as I was pregnant, but the loft conversion was the least stressful (compared with some of the other people we'd had in) and they finished two weeks ahead of schedule- one of the reasons we went for them was because their contract stipulated they would pay back ?100 for every week they went over the deadline. The quality of the work was good. I would suggest being careful when selecting a loft company - seem to be a lot of dodgy ones out there- this one was recommended to us by a friend of a friend. It's worth trying to see some work by the company before you decide to instruct anyone.

We'd also like to recommend helen and Steve from Gardenia gardens! We have a small garden but it was a challenging project- overgrown with ivy from the nearby rail tracks, a horrible old outhouse from the 1960s and fencing and patio all needing to be redone. Helen was professional, friendly and polite and provided a quote which included costs for materials and labour. There were no hidden extras.?Helen and Steve and their team were excellent. They are very knowledgable and gave us suggestions for planting and layout which all now look great. The project finished on time and came in on budget. Would not hesitate to use them again.
