I also live in Sydenham and have a miniature Scnauser who is 6. He is pretty easy going and only really gets grumpy with young puppies. We usually walk in the recreation ground off Newlands Park or Mayow Park.

I am in Sydenham and used the local forum to investigate the history of the house I bought there.

I was then contacted from California by the great-grand-daughter of the man who built the house in the 1880s and she has since been to visit and brought photos from those days.

That's quite a reach - you clearly never know who's watching the forums!

There's a great family run independent garden centre called Alexander Nurseries in Sydenham. Great plants and you can have a coffee too! Close to Penge East station

They made a door from our home and made it from scratch with beautiful joinery and precision. The quality is fabulous and he will make the job perfect for you. He also gave us a choice of woods in wpdifferent price brackets so that we could choose how much to spend.

I am looking for someone who can fit a large side gate to our property. The kind of gate I mean is a large wooden type for a driveway and would require the fitting of wooden gate posts set in concrete etc.

I can highly recommend Alex Fernandez and his team at Crown Joinery. Www.crown-joinery.co.uk

He has recently made a new door for us from scratch and fitted it beautifully with locks, draught excluders and real precision. Especially as our house is not quite 'square'. He gave us options foe the types of wood we could choose along with various price levels.

He has also just completed a bespoke piece of double-glazed window work for us to the highest standard. Whilst he's not the fastest or maybe the cheapest, If you are looking for craftsmanship and quality he would be my choice.

If you would like a recommendation, I can highly recommend a lady who has done some great sets of curtains for our house. We have provided the fabric and she has sourced the linings (thermal, blackout, lots of options) and everything else that was needed.

She even came to fit them at the end and is lovely to work with.

Why are you bothered?

To be honest 95% of my shopping comes from the supermarket but is delivered to the door. I leave for work at 6.30am and get back around 7pm. I don't know how else I could do enough household shopping for two people and a dog other than on-line every 10-14 days. The time it would take to go to individual stores and pick up everything throughout the week would be just impossible for me

Having one as we speak (although in Sydenham not ED) Thye great thing is that the workers are contained downstairs and so not too much disruption in the rest of the house, The results we have seen from the company we are using are pretty impressive.
