  1. Trying not to stray off path of my short listed cars as its taken a couple weeks to get it down to those cars as it is.

Just after feedback to help narrow it down.

However golf was on there as I thought similar size to the Peugeot, just forgot to add it on my list at time of typing.

It's hard trying to keep all the family happy with a car that everybody likes. Especially when my 7yr old just wants to repair our old T reg focus. Or get a blue car that he likes. haha

    Thanks for response though!

  2. Someone smashed my into car and left no details (how lovely).

However the cost to get it repaired has made me think about getting another car.

I have looked at Seat Altea's (my FAV so far) & Leon, Peugeot 306, Audi A3 or A2 & Renault scenic.

I'm thinking smaller car as mine is an estate, but not sure if we'll miss the boot.

Does anyone have the above mentioned cars? As i like to know how reliable, economical & comfortable they are.

My car is a ford focus estate and has not caused me any problems at all. But I fancy driving something different.

I do have a family, do like to go camping occasionally, we don't want to feel too cramped in the car on long journeys.

Any response re above cars would be helpful!

    Thanks

  7. Yes it was for the Mencap Spellathon. Our school won Woo Hoo! Our children are really pleased. Not only are we the best spelling school we also are the best fundraising school and we have the top speller in school as well, he spelt 51,109 words.

Songs I used in assembly were "celebration", we are the champions and I found one on iTunes, which was created for a schools by the early years collection called "well done". Nice simply tune.

I was just wondering if there were more modern celebration songs rather than taking them back to the classics. But it goes to show some of the oldies are the best or no song writers have wanted to celebrate anything big.

  8. Elfrida Primary School in Bellingham is helping Mencap, by participating in a sponsored spellathon to raise money for people with a learning disability. So far we have raised ?2125.00. They have spelt an astonishing 332,532 words correctly.

Please help by sponsoring our children who spell so well for this worthy cause. The competition ends this Monday 25/3/13.

So if you'd like to donate please click on our link: https://www.justgiving.com/Elfrida-Primary-School-Spellathon

Or text a donation to: 70070

    Text the word: HIVE63

    Followed by amount: ?3

(or whatever you would like to donate)

This has been an amazing way to raise much needed money for Mencap, whilst helping children to spell.

Two jobs in one, Well Done Mencap, Great Job Elfrida & Thank you to all who have sponsored them!

  9. In reply to the above. Nearly all of our parents have donated by their children taking part in the activities I have organised to raise funds for the school, and sponsor forms are being returned this week.

Our pupils have worked so hard! What is wrong with putting our link to hopefully raise more money for Mencap? Our pupils have raised awareness of Mencap's great work and spellathon as they were featured in local newspapers for our their brilliant achievements on behalf of Mencap.

Think how proud they will be if they can become the best fundraising school for Mencap just by spelling their hearts out. So I do think our link is appropriate because what they have done so far is amazing, our just giving page is set up by Mencap and donations go immediately to them. To date they have now spelt 325,215 words correctly and have remained the top spelling school since 22/11/12. With many of our pupils in the top ten on various leaderboards, one of which is in 1st place, spelling 47,368 words. Our pupils are taking what they are doing for Mencap seriously whilst enjoying it at the same time. They deserve a huge credit, seems spelling isn't every child's favourite and the majority of ours just don't want to stop.

  10. Hi,

Imagine if everyone who reads this donated just ?1.00.

I entered Elfrida Primary School pupils into a fabulous spellathon competition to raise money for Mencap (the charity that helps people with a learning disability) back in November. I never realised how much our pupils would love to spell, but so far they have managed to spell 319,253 words correctly. They are in first place with a huge lead of over 130,000 words on any other school in the world! The competition ends this Friday 23/3/13.

I am putting in a last attempt to raise as much as I can for Mencap. So far on our just giving page we have raised ?1580.

I follow their progress daily and encourage the children to keep them spelling. I have organised lots of events to help raise funds and keep their interest, but there is only so much I can keep asking parents & staff for.

That's why I'm putting this on here. Please click on our just giving page link below and see the fun our children have had. The children have been absolutely brilliant with their dedication & enthusiasm to spell. I just want them to win the champion fundraising title for their hard earned(spelled) efforts, they truly deserve it, and so do Mencap for devising such superb spelling competition for children.

We help Mencap and Mencap help us spell.

    Please be part of it.

  11. Thank you, your replies have helped a bit and he hasn't been too bad this week. But he is trying to be the dominating one, which becomes a bit aggressive then realises his place till the next time. And yes what is it with tissues I'm sure they should of used a beagle for the Andrex advert.
  12. Hi,

We have a lovely beagle who is 9 months old (male). We read that they are very hard work. But didn't realise how hard. I have had dogs all my life and my life. so I am used to various breeds. But our boy just seems to switch off and pays no attention. Unless he has treats but there only so many treats you can give. We reward for good behaviour and when he is good he is brilliant, but when is being mischievous he is really bad. He grabs anything he can to chew even though he has his own toys etc. he stopped weeing inside but sometimes just stands there and goes. He bites thinking he is playing and it becomes a battle to stop him. He doesn't get the concept of no unless you keep on and on and on! Please if anyone has had a beagle please let me know at what age they grow out of it. We are extremely patient but he is testing our patience. We have thought about re homing but don't want to give up on him because he is so lovely and it's not in our nature to get rid of him. But he does make our blood boil regularly.

  15. We recently got a beagle he is 10 weeks old now, this weekend we had to sort out for trellised fence that's heavily over grown with ivy because he found his way through into neighbours garden and got soaked in their sprinkler.

But once be found a hole he was very persistent to keep on trying to go through again and again and again.

He is lovely and settling in well I think you have to be very consistent with training the first thing he learnt was when his dinner was ready so excited. But now does come, sit, sort of NO! So irresistible all my family can't really walk past him without picking him up for a cuddle.

  16. Please! Music Lovers we need your feed back

Nou Enle are a local originals band, they are entering a competition this Sunday at dingwalls for live and unsigned bands, to perform for 2 minutes, but they would like to know east dulwich's forum favourite song to perform.

If you wouldn't mind, checking their songs out You Tube, search nou enle. They're a five piece band.

Songs to listen to are: Romeo, So modern, We both know & Casual affair.

Choose your favourite ONE and either give it the thumbs up on you tube, or reply to me or keep listening to your fav so they can see the most popular one viewed.

Really appreciate it if you could take the time. I love their music & hope you do too!

    Happy Listening to Nou Enle
