  1. The beautiful & charming Choumert Square is holding its annual OPEN DAY this Sunday 8th June. 1pm - 6pm. It's part of the National Gardens Week & donates the proceedings to Charity. There will be various stalls including...... Pimms - Tombola (generous prizes!) - Plants for sale (incredible value!) - Bric A Brac (notoriously good!) - Teas & Cakes (exquisitely good!) - Books (rare & read & ready to be read again!) etc.... Plus LIVE MUSIC Come & down & visit this paradise in Peckham !
  2. It's a wonderful venue. It's a decaying vintage social club. Trapped in its 1970s decor - vinyl & Lino, nicotine stained polystyrene ceilings with a wondrous labyrinth of spaces. A spectacular bollards room - dark & beautifully nostalgic, and a very cheap bar with TV screen. Oh - and a garden! This is a brilliant place to hold a party. I went to the jazz gig there. Jazz is not my cup of tea - bit (more than) dull & an audience of half unconscious, & rather self conscious (& very young) trendies trying desperately to appear like jazz loving beatniks...... But the space is enchanting and a real gem!
  3. Thank you for all the suggestions, I have someone coming tomorrow. Brilliant. Thanks EDF!
  4. I need a handyman/woman to put up a blind. Can anyone recommend a reliable and able person please? It's a simple/quick job. Am embarrassed that I can't do it myself - but I just get in a muddle and mess it up..!
  5. Had breakfast there yesterday. So happy to see them open early. They actually open up at 7.30am for breakfasts!! Brilliant. The avocado on toast was absolutely beautiful. Lovely d?cor. Lovely ambiance. Lovely friendly staff. I will definitely be going back.
  6. Ellies bakery on Choumert Road Peckham is amazing! Next door to Cafe Viva. Ellie bakes to order. She made a birthday cake for me which was absolutely divine. Highly recommended.
  7. Also - a girl approached me in a bit of a flap as I was putting my pin in the Barclays corner hole-in-the-wall and said "oh no - i left my money in the machine - quick let me just check!" She was ?spanish/itlaian - with a dog. I said I am terribly sorry but there was another person here before me - so I wouldnt have seen. A scam? possibly..? Just be aware of ANYONE approaching you at a hole-in-the-wall.....
  8. Dreadful shop. Synthetic clothes & throw away accessories.
  9. Duck Egg is a wonderful new addition to East Dulwich. Stop bitching. Stop the cutting remarks. Help them to establish themselves in the area - give them a chance! They are lovely people with a lovely offer.
  10. Has the sale happened yet? Id love to go !!
