  1. My grandson's partner makes the most delicious brownies. She trades as Kaf's Bakes and her website is http://www.kafsbakes.com/ . If you want a really indulgent treat give them a trial,
  2. Have just had my oven cleaned by OVENSHEEN. I must say they have done an amazing job. My cooker looks like a brand new one. My grandson has also just had his done as well, and it is used on an almost commercial basis, as his partner is Kaf of Kaf's Bakes (http://www.kafsbakes.com/) who makes amazing brownies. OvenSheen's phone number is 02086704946
  3. I had mine at Tessa Jowell Centre 10 days ago. Very very efficient. No side effects. Can't wait to get my second one.
  4. Can anyone recommend a good removal compny, not a man and a van, who will give a full service
  5. Another very satisfied customer. Dave and his mate fitted new radiators in my flat to replace an old fashioned skirting system. The work was done quickly and efficiently , and on time. All furniture moving was done by them and they cleared up. Now I have a much more efficient system. I am very pleased with their cheerfulness and friendly attitude. A real pleasure to have them working in my home.
  6. The new owners, are quite a big company, and run cafes in the majority of Royal parks, Battersea Park and many others. They told me that they are only running it as it is as a temporary measure. After Christmas they will be closing down for about two months to redevelop the cafe up to their normal standards. Hopefully this will mean all round improvements. I have found the new staff friendly, and the prices average for now a days.
  7. The new owners say that they will be closing soon for a complete refurbishment.
  8. The prices have gone up, but quality is much improved. However no quieter section for adults only.
  9. Every Wednesday at 10.00 am, come rain or come shine, a group of us meet in Dulwich Park for a walk in the park. We normally divide up into two groups, one whom do a lap of the park at a gentle pace, and the other two laps of the whole park at a slightly faster pace. We meet at the entrance to the car park, and all are welcome. After the walk we all meet up in the cafe for coffee etc. We are a friendly group, so come and meet us.
  10. Tomorrow at Dulwich Library I am giving a talk with music about the life and career of song writer Johnny Mercer. The talk starts at 2.00, and entry is free, refreshments available after.
  11. That is what we were told. Once upon a time it was a very good independent green grocer selling really good produce, particularly apples.
  12. My wife went at about 10.15, and said it was manic. Only bread samples, and so busy it was impossible to shop. So went to Bromley today to shop in peace. Anybody would think it was an Aldi!
  13. No not for food shopping.
  14. A regular local walk group in Dulwich Park, welcomes new members. They meet every Wednesday, come rain or shine, at 10.00 am by the entrance to the Car Park. The group usually breaks up into two groups, the slightly faster group usually does two laps of the whole park, and the slower group does one to one and a half laps mainly around the road and the lake. Both groups meet back at the Cafe around 11.00 am for drinks and a chat. They are a very sociable group and everybody is welcome, but please no dog-walkers.
  15. The M&S looks really nice. They did have an open day showing people round, but you had to book to go, and it was heavily oversubscribed. They were also giving away free un-used building materials for anybody who wanted to collect them. A Pound store would have only cheapened the area. The shop opposite M&S sells nearly everything, perhaps not as cheaply as a pound store, but the staff are friendly and very polite.
  16. I understand that the current owners of the cafe in Dulwich Park are giving up their lease and somenbody else will be taking over. There is a rumour that all the Southwark park's cafes will be under a single ownership. Doess anyone know if this is correct and has anyone any idea who it will be. Could it be one of the big chains.
  17. Whitestuff in Lordship Lane has a sale for charity of small watercolour paintings by local artists. They are asking for a donation of ?15.00 for each ready mounted paintings. We had a look this morning and there are some excellent works for sale.
  18. They were so rude in there, and highly priced. No wonder it closed.
  19. There is a very good art shop at Camberwell Green.
