They repaired my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM when the AF motor broke. I took it in and they estimated that it should be ready in around 3 days, it was ready to collect by the end of the same day. Not cheap, but it cost significantly less than replacing the lens, and I've not had any problems since.
  2. I went there last night, admittedly a monday night, and it was pretty dead. On the plus side though they seem to have a new manager who is keen to revamp the beer list, long overdue in my opinion. They had a special on last night for Shoreditch Triangle IPA for ?2.75 a pint; I don't think I've ever paid that for a pint. Admittedly some of their other offerings are more expensive, but they're also usually stronger than your typical pub offerings so I'd rarely order a pint anyway. Seems strange that they'd bring in new staff if they're supposedly closing though.
  3. They were handing out champagne last year during the final stage celebrating Wiggin's win, and I'm pretty sure they had a temporary licence last year as well. Good atmosphere to watch le Tour.
  4. That was going to be my recommendation as well PinarelloFan. I've been a member for about 2 years and it's been the best decision I've made. You get to meet lots of like minded riders, there's a broad range of abilities, and it opens up new routes in the countryside. Anyone interested in joining can come along on the Saturday club ride on the first Saturday of the month (you've just missed this month's). We meet at Herne Hill Velodrome at 8.45am and different paced groups start rolling out at 9.00am.
  5. Another recommendation for Local Greens. We were frustrated that the larger box schemes still flew a limited number of items in. Local Greens let you know what you're getting the week before where everything is from, and as a bonus at Christmas time we got a tasty chutney made from ingredients sourced from around South East London.
