  1. I saw three different Royal Mail vans plus two other postmen on our street today and still no post. Speaking with work colleagues their post hasn't been an issue during the past year and my family receive post the week I send it. It's clearly the Sorting Office that's the problem and despite Helen Hayes getting involved, nothing has changed and it will only get worse nearer Christmas.
  2. Also Muriel Spark's son was called Samuel and not Peter.
  3. Was this for parcels or post too? eastdulwichrover Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I went today and they were very nice and had a > look (they weren't busy which might have made a > difference). Mail isn't being sorted, only parcels. Or delivering recorded mail, which is what our postman did. We've been waiting over a week for post. He told us during lockdown that they were to prioritise parcels as that's where Royal Mail make their money.
  5. Our post improved for a while after the Christmas backlog; during which one parcel never arrived and another returned without being delivered.I have been told by our regular postman that their Annual Leave starts in April so they had use up any remaining holiday from the previous year or lose it. He came back and was told to prioritise parcels. I'm still waiting on a delivery sent at the beginning of the month.
  6. We were receiving post regularly up to 2 weeks ago and since then nothing. We have been waiting three weeks for first class post.
  7. Still none for me in Dawson Heights at gone 10pm. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
  8. A week to go till EU and Local Elections. Wondering whether the political map will change or the status quo remain? Will the UKIP protest vote happen, LibDems crash, a Labour resurgence, Greens improve their percentage? ...
  9. They did Hillcourt Rd the other day, hardly a major thoroughfare, while Peckham Rye has large potholes which are very hazardous while cycling.
  10. I'm guessing Katy doesn't have the possibility of having a brown bin because, like me being in an apartment building the council doesn't collect from our door, there are only communal bins. A wormery from Southwark Council is a possibility http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/530/food_and_garden_waste/2118/home_composting/1
  11. Whereas I'd like access to a brown bin. Living in a flat my only option is a wormery, which isn't always the easiest of choices. I think communal brown bins would be a good idea.
  12. Depends on what you mean by local but I used to go to Lewisham Arthouse. http://www.lewishamarthouse.org.uk/Arthouse/life_drawing.html
