  1. Our child is in their last term at Goose Green, and after 7 wonderful years we are very sad to be leaving such a wonderful school and it’s special community. Being 2 form entry, It’s one of the smaller schools in the area and it’s also very diverse with an amazing spirit. Brilliant Art and Music departments, staff and a new library.
  2. New signage is up and indicates it’ll continue on as a tyre/car shop
  3. We live nearby and often chatted with friendly Joe. Sad to see him go, he said he was retiring. Heard it’s going to be a café/coffee shop on the day he left.
  4. Has anyone tried the new indian on Maxted Road, where Ganapati take away used to be? It’s called Malabar Feast - menu looks good, not dissimilar to Ganapati. South Indian, Dosa etc.
  5. Objected. Would be such a shame to lose this green space that seems innocuous but contributes a huge amount of character and biodiversity to East Dulwich.
  6. If this goes ahead, the precedent it sets for other SINC areas in Southwark is really worrying. Not to mention that there are provisional TPO’s on the trees in question. I’ll be objecting.
  7. Somehow missed out on tickets for Charter North’s open day for 2024 Year 7 entrance. if anyone has any they arent using or hear of any, would greatly appreciate them as it’s in our top 2 so really need to see it! Thanks Hello, ignore this, no tickets needed actually
  8. As in, 100% it is going to be thai food or thai food, and run by 100% thai?
  9. Anyone have any further info on this? An authentic thai would be brilliant there.. fingers crossed
  10. If it’s a decent Thai I don’t think it matters that Grove Vale is quiet at night. A good Thai or Vietnamese or other South East Asian is so needed so people will come and it’ll do really well on take aways… if it’s any cop and authentic. Fingers Crossed
  11. They need to address the issue of ‘parking’ these bikes though. They are a huge hazard for anyone with any mobility issues. Yesterday I took my elderly visually impaired father for a walk. If I hadnt been with him, he would have tripped on 3 separate occasions due to Lime Bikes dumped right in the middle of pavements.
  12. Evelin is great https://www.dogstrainer.uk/
  13. There is a free music group for pre school children up to 4 years at Goose Green Primary school on Wednesday mornings (term time). It’s lovely & their music teacher is brilliant. See attached poster & link https://www.happity.co.uk/schedules/goose-green-primary-school-east-dulwich-goose-green-primary-school-stories-songs-and-rhymes-wednesdays-09-00-09-40
  14. Thanks @foxfamily92 Have sent you a PM
  15. Experienced Carer wanted for 3 days a week. Hours flexible, but roughly 9am - 5pm. Crystal Palace Road. My family are looking for someone to help us with my elderly father’s care. He requires full time care and has a vision impairment. He lives with my mother who is well and independent and currently his full time carer. We’re looking for a carer who will help him throughout the day with personal care, keep him company, get him outside for a walk, help him with a simple breakfast & lunch and overall ensure he is safe in order to allow my mother some more freedom and oeace of mind when she’s out for the day. We’d like someone local, who is fairly flexible, and we are happy to pay the going day rate. Starting ASAP. Please DM if you’re interested. We’d like to hear from you. Many Thanks
  16. As someone who grew up in Hammersmith have now lived in East Dulwich for 12 years, commuting all over town for work, I can tell you how much easier and more pleasant I find taking the trains, and buses than the tubes. And if you work in the city, how much more accessible it’ll feel from here. All the areas mentioned are great places to bring up children, we are so happy we have done so with ours. Though I would say Blackheath won’t be as convenient if your reason for moving is mainly to be near your mother. Good luck. I’m sure you and your family will be very happy here.
  17. Looking for a local private Physiotherapist for my elderly father who can do home visits. He requires some rehabilitation following a series of illnesses which have left him very weak. Get in touch if you have a recommendation or if you can help. Many Thanks
  18. Our daughter is at Goose Green. She is thriving and so very happy there and has been for 5 years now. We love the sense of community and personal feel of the school thanks to the wonderful long standing and passionate staff. No forest school but there are so many other plus points. For us, a big factor is that its 2 form entry rather than 3, and the focus on music & arts.
  19. Can anyone recommend anywhere or anyone for private swimming lessons for my 8 year old and a friend who are happy in the water but not quite swimming confidently yet. Somewhere local to ED and walkable or short bus journey ideally. Thanks
  20. There?s a gate on Greendale cycle path - As it goes north, as it Starts to go uphill. Or you can find a smaller opening on the football ground side, the south eastern corner of the astroturf. You can also access it via the small wood behind Sainsburys. My family have used the wild space and astroturf consistently for 10 years. My daughter learned to ride a bike here, hit a tennis ball, rollerskate etc. Football, a good run around and endless family hide and seek in the wild areas, not to mention blackberry picking every summer. We always run into friends there and end up having a catch up. We?ll be sad to see it go, so many fond memories
  21. Basically just an attempt to rally people to encourage Moxon to reopen Next Door! Totally understand why they had to close with pandemic/social distancing measures etc. but would love them to reopen one day.. pretty sure they are still using the site? It was excellent, it was great to have such a special fish restaurant, an asset to the lane amongst all the burger places, pizza, pub fare, curry houses etc.
  22. Highly recommend Shae Bunnies https://instagram.com/shaebunnies?utm_medium=copy_link A lovely mother & son team who have bunnies, snakes etc. Was perfect for my 8 year old?s small birthday party.
  23. Actually just remembered that Yardsale Pizza do gluten free base too - yet to try it but heard good things.
  24. Oh that?s a good tip about Theo?s - thanks! And it?s true, love Camberwell Arms and they?ve always been good with GF, delicious food, great atmosphere
  25. Am looking forward to trying the Georgian place - Kartuli. Many people speaking highly of and having perused the menu online, loads of GF options, and clearly marked too!
