  1. Hello I?ve been having a terrible time with a leak coming from my bathroom to the bedroom. One plumber fixed it back in March (or so we thought) but we noticed it?s been leaking again. I got another plumber round to fix it but a week or so later I noticed the wet patch was getting bigger in the bedroom again. He said it must be another leak and said he would charge to come back and look at it!! So I?m back to square one. The loo is built into the wall so it?s hard to see a leak. You only notice it next door in the bedroom. Can you recommend any good plumbers who will fix a leak (and be able to diagnose it properly - and come back to fix it if it isn?t actually fixed - at no extra cost)?
  2. Hello, The serpentine belt on my Skoda Fabia needs replacing (and also needs investigating that nothing else caused the problems). My car needs to be towed to a mechanic somewhere near SE6/SE23 in the next few days but would poss go to SE22 or SE4. Any recommendations? Many thanks Charlie
  3. Hello, I currently live in Forest Hill with my 4 year old son and have been thinking about sharing with another single parent family for some time. I?m in no rush and I think the most important thing is taking the time to meet the most compatible family to move in with (by that I mean single mum or single dad and probably one child). I?d like to stay in Forest Hill (as my son goes to school there) but would possibly move to a surrounding area such as Brockley, Peckham, East Dulwich, Nunhead or Sydenham. The whole point would be to have a happy home life so the kids can play and the parents can share the childcare sometimes so the other has more freedom to go out or take a night class, etc. But also get some company at home, too. I?d say I?m creative, into music and bands (although rarely go to gigs these days!), art and exhibitions, but also don?t turn my nose up at watching the odd bit of crap telly on a Saturday night. I?m 33, I work full-time and I?m pretty sociable. I have my son most of the time apart from Thursday nights and every other weekend. If house/flat sharing is something you might like to do then message me and we can perhaps arrange to meet for a cup of tea or trip to the park with the kids. Charlie (as in Charlotte)
  4. Hello, I?m on the lookout for a personal trainer to help me lose about 10-14lbs, tone up and generally make me feel fitter and more healthy (I don?t really do anything at the moment). I?d like guidance on diet and what to eat as well. I?m not rolling in money so I?m looking for someone who isn?t too expensive and I would like to maybe do 10 1-hour sessions over 10 weeks (rather than 2 or 3 a week ? as I could do other workout sessions myself the rest of the week). I?d also like the sessions to be home based or possibly outdoors (but would have to pre-arrange some childcare for this as I?m a single mum ? so home-based is a bit easier) rather than in a gym setting. Anyone know any good (and cheap-ish) personal trainers in the area? Many thanks, Charlie - SE23
  5. Hello there, My son and I moved into the area in December and I?m always on the look-out for things to do with him at the weekends (as I work full-time). It would be great to meet up with other parents and their kids who would also like to make friends and sometimes do things together locally (such as go to local parks and playgrounds, museums, woods, swimming, soft play, anything really). My son (George) is 3 and a half but it would be nice to meet people with kids at any age. And parents can be single parents like me, or not, it doesn?t really matter. Let me know if you are interested! Charlie (Mum) x
  6. It's the 'distance between 2 UK postcodes' tool
  7. Hey all I have been looking around primary schools is SE22 and SE23 and I have been trying to find out my home to school distance (as the crow flies) and I found this fantastic website which does it for you: http://www.freemaptools.com/distance-between-uk-postcodes.htm I don't know how accurate it is but it is at least better than Google maps which doesn't give you the crow flies option.
