  1. Grant Snapps announced yesterday another ?175 million for LTNs/Walking and Cycling but on condition that Councis consult local businesses and communities first. If you disagree with these new traffic measures you must keep complaining the the Highways people and your local council and better still get a Residential Association together and or join One Dulwich. For some bizarre reason the government and Southwark think the majority of people are in favour of these road closures.
  2. All the Townley Road coaches will be able to go through the new lights . I think Clean Air Dulwich and Our Healthy Streets got this all nicely sewn up.
  3. James, I think the proposed area is way too large and the parking times too long. It needs to be reconsidered, reduce the area and reduce the parking times and maybe this is the compromise. I responded not to have it at all and this is my preferred option first and foremost.
  4. Dear Robin The trees in Beauval Road and the cherry's in Milo looked amazing this year. Do you know if the council plan to replant the cut down tree near the corner of Milo Road and on Beauval Road (I think opposite number 76). The tree stump was taken out of the ground about 2 weeks ago..... Would be great if we could tie it in with the replants done last year and the year before? Many thanks! Patty
  5. Can anyone recommend a good Chinese restaurant who will do a takeaway to E Duwlich?
  6. Thank you, that sounds like a good practical solution.
  7. I am an infrequent traveller through London Bridge Station but last night around 11.15pm as I was running to catch a train to Dulwich, I saw a young woman with red hair in the area of London Bridge walk way between the tube and the station . She was sitting on a mat with a sign and was visibly very upset and crying. She told me that the police kept moving her on and that she was going to have to sleep in a local park that night a s she didn't have enough money to stay anywhere else. I am really worried about this young girl who looked very vulnerable and I wish I had stayed and talked to her to try and help. Has anyone else seen her and maybe we can do something as a community to help? Any police or charity workers out there with advise?
  8. I really recommended Mel's skills as a fantastic yoga teacher . I also attended one of her Mindfulness walks recently and as a sceptic, I left feeling really positive that this sort of thing DOES work! Try it and see!
  9. Hi, Has anyone had any contact with the Trees department in Southwark Council this year ? I would be interested to know what they said. I live off Lordship Lane and have complained that trees in my road have never been replanted after they fell in a storm about 18 months ago. I have been told new regulations stipulate that the pavement of my very normal street is not wide enough to replant any trees. Maybe you have had the same response or yours have been replanted Please PM me if you have had any dealings with the council as well? Maybe your trees have been replanted? Thanks.
  10. Joss Young ( a local Science Tutor living in East Dulwich) has been tutoring my son in year 9 for a couple of months. He is experienced, professional and extremely personable and he has reversed my son's negativity about Science. We look forward to him coming to our home every week and we have already seen some positive results. If you are looking for a Science tutor I cannot recommend him enough. He teaches GSCE and AS/A Level. Contact Joss Young 07751 220872 [email protected]
  11. Thanks for your posts. Can I ask how much does he charge per hour? Thanks
